I replaced this Toaster with an Older Model KitchenAid Toaster that I had for many years. This toaster is a piece of Garbage. KitchenAid should be embarrassed to have their name on it since KitchenAid is synonymous for top quality. It is flimsy, bottom catch tray does not make sense to remove debris and stinks of burning plastic when turned on. The front panel get so hot that the plastic knobs must be melting. This is only when toasting a couple of pieces of bread. I used it once and returned it. Do not buy this toaster!

I would agree with the previous reviewer except that I did not have the good sense to return it. I have had it for a year and it just quit on me today. The door is awkward, the shelf is almost impossible to switch from the toast to the bake position, toast is only done on one side unless you reach inside, burn your hand and turn it over- and it takes forever to toast. I will replace it with another brand! No stars!
Brands I'd also recommend: I have had issues with DeLongie over the years as well. I guess thse are meant to break down within 2 years. .The best toaster is one I have from my grandmother-- probably from the early 1900's. It only toasts but it has never failed me.-

My mother bought this model at another store, returned it twice and now the 3rd one is not working properly. The toaster doesn't work at all and we suspect the oven isn't heating the correct temperature. After 3 tries, I'd buy another model.
