This is a nice, useful, everyday "lug everything" bag, with a couple of minor quibbles. I ordered the Mitchell Blue color which appears to no longer be available; I think I got one of the last few that Zappos had in stock. I love a larger bag, with lots of individual compartments that can be closed, so that things I carry - but don't need frequently - are secure and easily found when I want them. This bag definitely does that and more! The cross-body strap adjusts to fit so you can have your bag securely with you when you're out and about, and the regular carrying handles are comfortable for everyday carrying as well. Not as visible in the photos, but you can see in the video: there are slip pockets on the front and back of the bag, that are accessible for putting thin items (folded papers, a small book, etc.). What I don't love: The fact that the pen slots and cell phone slot are in the larger outer pouch, that secures only with hook-and-loop. While Kipling is a good manufacturer, I've run into problems in the past with other products (note: Not Kipling) where the hook-and-loop closure doesn't work well after a lot of use. So that was a worry. While I suspect this wouldn't be an issue, I would have preferred to have the cell phone slot and key hook to be inside the main compartment, as they are in most other bags. The other issue: that cell phone slot is much too small. Weirdly so. I was just barely able to fit my iPod Touch into it without removing it from its case. I was not able to fit my Android phone into the slot. I admit, I didn't try removing the Android from its case, but the slot was narrow enough that it really didn't seem like it would fit even then. You can always put your cell phone either loose in that big outer pouch, loose in the main compartment, in the large zipped pocket inside the main compartment, or inside one of the two zipped pockets on the bag's ends. Or you could toss it into one of the slip pockets. As an alternative: the Kipling Defea bag is slightly larger, and has inside-the-main-compartment cell phone storage that actually fits my phone.

This is my 2nd kipping purse. The reason I bought this bag is because I love the shape and it's black. However, it is not as user friendly as my 1st one. Too many velcro all over that makes it inconvenient to open when you're in a hurry. I'm giving it to my sister and I will continue using my discolored creamed one and it's not attractive and looks soiled but very user friendly.

I got the Kipling Fairfax in true blue and like it, mostly. It is just the right size to hold my wallet, phone, glasses, large sunglasses, makeup, a notebook, sunscreen, and more, without looking bulky. It stands up on its own, rather than falling over, when I put it down, and has just enough structure so I can open it and look inside, and open pockets, without it falling in on itself. Also, it has got a light-colored interior, so no black-hole syndrome. I appreciate that it has enough pockets so that I can store things separately (I like to keep my makeup relatively germ-free, separated from my wallet). The only problem is that I was hoping to use the two end pockets for keys and cell phone which are the two items that I reach for most often. But the zippers are too difficult to open without putting the bag down on a surface and using both hands. So those pockets are a total fail. I almost returned the bag due to those pockets, but I guess I will keep it because it works so well in every other way.

I love the berry purple. It is a deeper purple to me in person. It would be nice if the pocket in front was zippered or a slip pocket instead of Velcro. It is a nice size. I like to use it across body. I do not like how the short straps flop around when using the long straps. That just does not look good. I would like shorter short straps, like on the Adomma (my favorite).
I'd also recommend: just other Kipling, maybe Baggalini, or Ameribag

Love this bag. It has a place for everything. I removed the velcro tabs from the side pockets so I could access them easier. I don't like to hunt for things in my purse. I know exactly where to put my hand when I need a certain thing. It fits well over my shoulder and weighs NOTHING - except for what I put in it. Great travel bag, great everyday bag. I love Kipling bags!
