I bought the men's version for the color and availability - I love Keens. I have purchased sandals before, for myself and my children, and wanted a new pair for everyday/all weather use. I chose the Voyageur for the type of shoe it was (I wanted a rugged shoe that would hold up to every day walking and give me more structure than a sneaker) and for its look. But, the women's version was out of stock and I wasn't really into the women's light colored version of this shoe. I called Zappos and a representative helped me to figure out what my shoe size would be in a men's pair and I tried it. It was a great decision. The darker color is fabulous and it has held up really well so far. It didn't require any real breaking in time because the shoes were very comfortable right out of the box. They are heavier than a sneaker, so that took some getting used to. Also, I have to double-tie the shoe laces because they kept coming loose, but otherwise, I love them as they are. I realize the men's version is probably a little wider and boxier than the women's, but that is not an issue for me since the size and color are perfect and I had no point of comparison (since I didn't try the women's version). I also use my orthotics with these shoes and have had no issues there either. Overall, I rate these shoes very high. I plan to get some for my kids for the new school year, with the expectation that they'll look nicer and last longer than sneakers.

Great Shoe, but Could Use more Ankle Support - I tried a lot of hikers/walkers before deciding on this one. This is my second pair of Keens--I love their comfort, but I don't care for the rubber toe cover look (honestly, who needs that much toe protection?) Overall it's an awesome shoe--good stability, weight, design, and breathability. I also like that it doesn't have Vibram sole. Vibram soles are great for longevity, but they don't absorb any shock with every step, which results in fatigue. The downside is that these soles may wear out faster. My two gripes about the shoe: First, I like shoes that really grip the ankle when tied--these don't seem to. Second, Keen put a stitch seam in the middle of the tongue that puts unnecessary pressure on the top of my foot. Both of these annoyances may go away as the shoe gets "broken in", and other people may not even notice. I'm picky, because my shoes must last a long time. Overall, again, I really like the shoe; otherwise I wouldn't have kept them.
Brands I'd also recommend: Keen Austin, several North Face models

Keen Comfort - Keens always fit great (size 14). These shoes are a little warmer than expected and also a bit heavier. Not as light as sandals obviously, but a little more weight than I expected from the description. However, the comfort factor is so high, that the above comments are minor. Also they have tie laces, which is not apparent from photos, but was mentioned in other comments.
Brands I'd also recommend: Any Keen product.

Great Shoe - Have the Keen Newport sandals and the Voyager Mid boot. This one is 1/2 size small. Had to order 13s. They fit well and I use them every day. Comfort is hard to beat. I like the big toe box for comfort. Use them for city and trekking. Any serious terrain I use the mid boot for ankle support.

Keen Voyageur - Once you buy Keens, it is tough to wear anything else. These are my 2nd pair. My son, wife and mom all have them. I have worn many high end hiking shoes, and spend a lot of my day walking. I am a loyal Keen and Zappos customer. Keep up the good work! Jason

All Day - I am a Operating Room Nurse and am on my feet all day, and do a tremendous amount of walking. I have the Newport H2 and a pair of Portsmouths -- great shoes! I know these Voyageur's will be the same for work. They seem to run a half size small, I knew the 10's wouldn't work before I put my foot on the floor. Went with a 10.5 -- perfect fit!

Very comfortable out of the box. Very similar in feel and fit to the Targhee. Keeps heel well centered and down without constricting forefoot.

Great Shoe - The shoe is very comfortable and supports my arches very well. Wore the pair around the house for three hours around the house before using for my walks. This is a more aggressive tread than I need, but the Keen shoes and my feet work well together. The shoe breathes and is cooler than some, but its summer in TX, even sandals are sweaty. Typical GREAT Zappos service. The shoes are a half size larger than I normally wear, but I knew to order them that way.

COMFORT - These shoes are the most comfortable I've ever worn. I am a landscaper/mason and am on my feet constantly. There is enough room in the toe and the support is terrific. I wear a size 14 and am a big guy, so when I find something that works, I am very happy. I wound up buying 3 pair.

So comfy and versatile - This is a great hiking shoe and can be worn for every day stuff as well. I love Keen. Once you wear a pair of these, you will never want to wear anything else on your hikes or for a great all around weekend show. Trust me!

This Keen is incredible. The support/cushion reduces the shock from walking on hard surfaces. It is especially good for forefoot pain, hip pain, and lower back pain. I love the casual look. It is an extremely practical shoe. I wear them with a somewhat cushioned orthotic. They feel great the moment you put them on and the square toe box accommodates your toes.

Amazing. This is my fourth (and favorite) pair of Keens. They feel slightly larger than my normal shoe size (11.5) but not enough to make them uncomfortable. I put them on today and immediately went for a long walk. No need to even break them in.

Love these shoes! I purchased these for my husband who lives in white sneakers on the weekends. I wanted him to try something that was a darker color this fall. He was skeptical to say the least, but I have to say these shoes won him over. First of all he loves them for the comfort. They have a nice roomy toe box so that he can wear fairly thick socks comfortably even though he has a somewhat wide foot. They do seem to run a bit big so I'd order accordingly.
Brands I'd also recommend: Cole Haan with Nike Air Technology

Comfortable but different from sandals - As a longtime fan of Keen sandals, I bought this for a shoe that would give me a little extra protection hiking through pastures and stuff. First let me say that this is a whole different shoe from my Keen sandals, the sole is thicker and stiffer, and the uppers feel a lot more like a regular running shoe with good ventilation. Wearing these barefoot (like my other Keens) is not real comfortable; the inside is a bit rough. I found that they are extremely comfortable when worn with socks (which I don't do a lot of in Florida). They also don't have the Keen trademark elastic cord for shoelace, these have traditional shoelaces. I do like how easy they are to slip on and off my feet and they work wonderfully as a workout shoe. I also like that the insole doesn't stick to my foot (a problem I've been having with my San Sebastian's). Width is great, perfect for my wide feet, size is perfect at 10.5 for me (with socks on that is). They may be a bit warm for summer in Florida, we'll see!
Brands I'd also recommend: Keen San Sebastian, Targhee for lighter options.

Finally a light hiker that fits - I have been wearing Merrill light hiking shoes for many years. Although I always liked the light weight and ventilation they never seemed to have enough room in the toe box. On any longer hikes my small toes would ache or become bruised. I put up with this through two pairs of Merrills before thinking I could do better. I decided that I would try the Keen voyageur, since I own two other pairs of Keen shoes and they fit well. I have already put about 50 miles on the Voyageurs and the difference between them and the Merrils is amazing. My foot feels great in them with ample toe room and my foot stays anchored well. I have a medium width foot so I am not hard to fit but with light hiking shoes toe space is everything. I am enjoying my hikes more than ever due to these shoes. The cost is about the same as the Merrill hikers so anyone needing more toe comfort on hikes would do well in buying the Voyageurs.
