To start I work in a wash bay at Toyota and I have had a hard time finding a shoe that is waterproof and has good grip on wet/oily floors. Most shoes I have had that said they were waterproof lasted a few weeks; the Pittsburgh lows have held up to all of my demands and keep my feet dry and I have had them for a few weeks now and love them. Goods - comfortable (stand on my feet all day and my feet don't hurt at the end of the day). Supportive. Look nice. Not heavy and clunky. Have movement and give (even with steel toe). Don't smell at end of day. Do good in ice and snow. Easy to keep clean, not a lot of upkeep. Bads - not supper breathable. Laces don't stay tight for more then a couple of hours. and when the shoes get wet they get a light squeak that rotates between shoes (not a huge deal). Feet will get cold when outside. When I got the shoes and opened the box they came with a second par of black laces so if you dont like the reflective yellow ones, which is nice to have an extra and a choice of color.

Didn't personally buy them from Zappos but got them directly from Keen. Worth all the money. I work in the automotive manufacturing industry and finding a durable steel toe shoe that is also comfortable and does not have metal eyelets (they can scratch the cars) is sometimes impossible. Like the other review, my only flaw with them is you do have to re-tie them sometimes to keep their tightness however this is normal with Keens due to how the laces pull and support the whole shoe. Super comfortable and perfect for my huge ankles from playing hockey for 20 years.

These shoes are great! The balls of my feet would hurt after a long day of walking around on concrete. They have reduced my pain from a 5 or 6, to a 1 or 2. They also seem to be holding up well.

I tried ordering these shoes from another online retailer that was cheaper than Zappos and listed their Pittsburgh Lows as steel toe, big mistake. Needless to say, I never got them, requested a refund, and stuck to what I know, superior Zappos customer service. Keen has really outdone themselves in industrial quality work shoes. The shoes are slightly heavy, but what steel toed shoes are not? Immediately out of the box you can tell that these puppy covers are built to last. I am an Aircraft Mechanic and crawl all over helicopters all day and could not imagine wearing any other shoes to work. I am quite positive that I will purchase another pair of Keen Utility shoes, but I don't think I will need another pair for the next four or five years.

My first pair of steel-toed shoes and I'm surprised by how heavy they are. Shoes seem well-constructed, but I concur with another comment on these shoes that my heel slips out, too.

Wow! Like walking on pillows. They fit like a fine leather driving glove. The cushioned footbed felt springing with beautiful arch support. They are built tough and will last me for years easily. The minute I walked around in these I knew the money was well spent and forgotten about. They truly are like walking on pillows and for those of you that are height challenged you will be walking much taller. Absolutely love 'em.

Recently replaced my old, torn up skate shoes that I'd been using in a restaurant with the Pittsburgh Lows sold from Zappos. It's quite an investment, but well worth the money. Everything that's advertised about these shoes is correct. Grip is incredible, I have no issues walking right over a mopped floor now without looking stiff-legged and awkward. It's a very firm shoe, but it's still relatively flexible. The steel-toe adds an extra measure of protection for the occasional item-falling-on-your-foot. The only thing that I found slightly lacking was comfort. It's not an uncomfortable shoe, however it's not completely comfortable, either. It occupies a zone between the two. Additionally, because of the firmness and rigidity, they do take a while to break in. Final thoughts: These shoes are incredibly well crafted, very strong, and could probably survive a nuclear bomb. It may not be the most luxurious shoe on the planet, but I feel that it's one of the best. Well worth the money.

These are the most comfortable steel toe shoes I've ever worn. They're waterproof and breathable...actually breathable! Comfortable after full 18 hour day. Feel true to size, except Keens run a little wide, which is good for me.

Excellent shoe. Tough as nails. From the start the shoe is a bit stiff, but still comfortable. The moderate support is just what my foot needed. Sometimes I'm standing all day long and this shoe delivers comfort for the whole day. Stock laces become untied regularly and I wanted a more professional style. Overall, an awesome shoe. Keen delivers again!

Really like the shoe, good styling and comfortable. You can notice the weight of the steel toe as expected. Generally I wear a half size bigger in a Keen, but shouldn't have on this shoe. Pretty true to size.

Beautifully crafted shoe and seems to be holding together pretty well after 3 or 4 weeks of use. The insole was paper thin and needed to be upgraded to Dr. Scholl's gel to make it work for me. These shoes need thick insoles because everything below it is like walking in wood shoes. It gets more flexible over time but they are very stiff to start. Grip is excellent and they do not slip on wet surfaces. Toe is comfortable with contoured shaping. Overall i feel they're a good value for the money and will probably get better as they continue to wear in.

Unfortunately, the shoe did not do it for me. Where the shoe flexes on the top of the foot would rub the top of my foot. It wasn't painful, but it bothered me. Also the shoe was a bit narrow on me. Now I'm going to get picky...the stitching was uneven. But that didn't affect the functionality of the shoe, though. I was disappointed because I was very excited for the shoe. Waterproof, and breathable? That's just what I was looking for. Too bad though, I guess. Although the shoe rubbed on top, the rest was very comfortable, and lightweight.

I wear a size 12, but the only size available at the time was a 12W. I am really happy that my gamble paid off. When I first wore the shoes around the house on carpet I was concerned because the overall size felt too snug. However, after two weeks of light-duty walking and work, the shoes began to contour around my feet. I wear my shoes in standing positions for hours at a time; and I have had leg pains with running shoes and skateboard shoes, but I have not experienced noticeable feet/leg/shin pains with the Pittsburgh Low. These shoes feel as heavy as boots, and the toe box is larger than any steel toe that I have owned. However, the outside size and overall weight of the shoes have benefited me in two ways. First, I bike to work everyday and the weight has helped my pedaling. Second, I have always had problems working pedals while driving a car with manual transmission. The extra weight on my feet finally allowed me to drive manual transmission without stalling. Overall, I feel comfortable wearing these shoes anywhere; and they have replaced my other shoes as my everyday shoes.
