This is the best pair of shoes I've ever purchased. They're very comfortable, lightweight and versatile, which I can wear them with just about type of slacks. So far my ultimate purchase of 2013, I'm planning to buy another pair because these are getting too much road time.

Previous reviews disparaging the comfort of this shoe almost stopped me from buying it. Although I'm glad I knew of the issues some had with the shoes, I'm glad I didn't let that stop me from buying them. These are comfortable and stylish, just be sure to not lace them too tight or you will get the irritating rub on the back of your heel other reviewers mentioned. I bought the shiitake color which doesn't seem to be available anymore. I may go back for the navy blue pair as well for the fall. Haven't gone sock-less in these yet and don't really plan on doing so. These are a fall/cold spring shoe. I'll save my Sperry's for when it gets warm.

I have not had them long so there is probably a little more break in needed, but the very top back part of the upper is rubbing my Achilles and it gets pretty uncomfortable after awhile. Other than that, these are good shoes that look nice and are initially comfortable.

These shoes are very comfortable, but I would warn prospective buyers that "Dusty Olive" looks far different from what you see in the pictures: the shoes are actually a dark green. In fact, I can't really wear them with very much because they are so green. I was expecting a faded grey-green, but they are simply just green. The laces are a different color as well, so I will probably change them out for a different color. I do not recommend this color, unless you want some very dark green shoes.

The Santa Cruz looks great and has almost unlimited applications. The downside is the achilles area; long hours of wear cut into my foot and I end up using moleskin or bandaids to get through the day. My opinion Keen would improve on this shoe with padding in the achilles area of the shoe.
I'd also recommend: Merrell, KSwiss
