Excellent - This boot is truly amazing. I own another pair of Keen Hiker, and although great they lack a little in ankle support. These boots require no break in period. Use the on moderate to challenging trails and they keep coming back for more. They fit great. No need to order wide. I usually wear a 12 1/2 e or ee. These are perfect in 12 reg.
Brands I'd also recommend: any other Keen shoe

Killer boots - Having worn Keen products for many years I have developed a strong brand name preference for the footwear from Keen. Presently I wear two pair of lace up "Austins" and one of the original sandals. With every pair of Keens that I have worn the 10-1/2 fits me exactly, all in all I have owned 5 or 6 different Keen sandals, shoes or boots, all of the same size [10-1/2] and have been very satisfied with the fit and comfort. That is until now, so far the PC Oregons seem to be at least a size larger than the others that I own, and even when worn with trekking sox feel "sloppy". I have worn them recently hiking in Nicaragua and suffered with discomfort. Hopefully they will eventually "break in" however I have never experienced such a problem with Keen products in the past. They DO look good, and appear to be of rugged construction. Do hope that they will eventually be more comfortable but I will have to be sure that I have an adequate supply of the heavier trekking sox!
Brands I'd also recommend: DO like the New balance 965 light hiker.

An amazing hiking boot. Hiking boots have been my preferred footwear for over 40 years. Putting the Oregon PCT on for the first time is like slipping into perfectly broken-in boots I have been wearing for years. They have some of the best overall foot support of any boot except hard-shell expedition boots. Lacing is quick and easy. The sole is as stiff as it needs to be to make scrambling easier, with enough flexibility so that walking down the street is comfortable. The Oregon has good arch support out of the box, but I always pull the stock insole out of my boots and drop in a good pair of Super Feet insoles. I miss the classic Vibram sole boot print, but not enough to give these up.
Brands I'd also recommend: Any of the Keen slip-ons are a good complement to these boots.

Absolutely love this boot!!! Picked up Asolos a year ago and after several rounds of blisters and I finally had it and went with the wide foot friendly Keens. These boots already feel broken in, flexible, but stable and supportive, room to stretch with thicker wool socks, light, and quite visually appealing in person. Took them for a bear of a hike, no blisters and very happy.

This is a slogging boot! Great for hiking chunky lava rock and muddy streams. I have submerged them twice to the ankle and kept my feet dry. Foot beds rock shape and rigidity excellent. Toe box is wide. No real break-in needed. Ankle support is good but north face is better. Width is wider and arch more pronounced than north face boots. These are going to last me a while. I am super happy with them.

Very comfortable right out of the box! These boots not only look great, but I couldn't believe the comfort they offer, even when brand new! No break in time required and they offer incredible support as well. I love my PCTs!

I bought these Keen Oregon PCT boots for hiking, they are so comfortable I were them all around the farm, and most of my local trips to the feed store and such. I will probable buy an extra pair for a back up at some point. Most comfortable I ever wore. Comfortable from the moment they came out of the box.\r\n\r\n
Brands I'd also recommend: Keen Oregon PCT\'s are it, look no further, they are the best.

I recently purchased these boots, and was extremely happy with them. They fit great right out of the box, and were true to size. No break in required, either. Great looking shoe also. After owning them for 2 weeks, one of the metal lace eyelets pulled out of the shoe. (I read that this happened to someone else in another review somewhere.) I then returned them, but couldn't get them replaced because my size was out of stock. They seem like good shoes, I just question their durability!

Used these boots on a hiking trip in Alaska. Wore them every day, all day long for 6 days. Hiked through rough, slippery terrain. Carried a light pack. The boots held up wonderfully. They were very comfortable. They stayed dry. They provided good support and traction. They did everything I could ask for in a hiking boot.

The best hiking shoes I have ever owned! I bought these boots about three months ago in preparation for my climb of Kilimanjaro in December (2009). Although I had read the reviews saying these shoes didn't need to be broken in, I wanted to give myself plenty of time to do just that, only the reviewers were right! I didn't need to break them in, and I can report that I finished my 7-day climb without a single blister. The best feature of this shoe, though, has to be the wider toe area at the front (which is Keen's trademark). Having more toe room meant I didn't get the "jamming" of my toes in the front of the shoe as I descended the mountain, which was a big relief.

I read a review for the Keen Oregon PCT in an outdoor magazine and decided, based on that review, to give them a try. I couldn't be happier. These are one of the best pairs of hiking boots I've owned. My hiking style is mostly scramble hiking off trail and peak bagging and they perform admirably in that function. I "broke them in" on a treadmill at my local fitness center but that was probably not necessary as they were comfortable right out of the box. I wear a size 9 street shoe and I order most of my hiking shoes in size 10. These fit perfectly in size 10 and I really, really like the wide toebox. I've gone hiking with them on wet rock and the traction is outstanding. I would highly recommend these to anyone who wants a pair of light but sturdy hiking boots for trail and off-trail hiking.

Comfortable true to size, I have tested them on rough terrain in the winter here in New England and they more than lived up to my expectations- These are first non all leather hiking boots I have used and the features combined with the lightness have won me over.

My first pair of Keens and so far I really like them. I walk pavement all day long and it's difficult to find a shoe of this type that will not break down internally within six months. If I get a year out of these, I'll be delighted. Comfort out of the box is good. Much better after a couple of days. Support is terrific. Traction is great, even on the ice. Buying a 1/2 size larger was good advice. A complete lace-up can be a little tricky in the dark. Still, at the end of the day, my back feels good and I have a spring in my step. What's not to love about that? I don't think you can go wrong with these.

I ordered these boots for my son. He used them straight out of the box to go on a three day backpacking trip and LOVED them. No problems with blisters or sore feet. Now looking forward to taking them on longer trips this summer. Also, just have to mention how much we love Zappos! Amazing customer service and attention to detail - thanks!

Have owned a lot of keen shoes and without a doubt these are the best by far. Have feet that are hard to fit shoes to. Will get another pair.

I'm not a hiker but was looking for a spring and fall boot that looked somewhat rugged and was waterproof (haven't tried that out yet). I wear them (dress socks or wool) around town, morning soccer practices and back and forth (spring/fall/Mich. winters) to work (prof. architect). These boots are very comfortable, light weight, and great support. The material in the front tongue definitely allows your foot to breathe. I was afraid the toe space was going to be too large and bulky (typ. of Keen) but this wasn't the case. I wear a 9.5 they fit great but may want to try 1/2 size larger? Currently have worn them for the winter and spring and haven't had a problem. Hopefully not. I truly enjoy the boot for my needs. Certainly wood recommend. (PS: First time ever writing a review but thought my experience could help someone else as others did for me).

Hey, these shoes are great. They fit well and seem to hold up well. I really like Keens and have several other pairs. I do recommend going a half size larger than your regular shoe size as Keens seem to run a little small. I think the Oregon PCT hikers are the best looking, too.

These are great boots! I got them about 3 weeks ago and I love them. They are very comfortable and I wear them to work where I am on my feet anywhere from 12 to 15 hours a day. They might look like big heavy boots but they are not. They are light weight and are very much true to size. Also they are definitely waterproof of which I tested them yesterday when we had a bad rain storm come through and I was walking through water and my feet did not get wet at all. As with all Keen shoes these are truly a great buy!
