Okay, I have tried these in a 10.5 (not enough room in toe box and width) and now an 11. The 11's are too big and I can't tighten the laces enough to not slide forward and backward in the shoe. I love the room that the 11 gives me in the width of the shoe but the length is too long. The heel still hugs nicely. I do have to wear my Superfeet inserts to have any foot/arch support. The stupid little foam insert is junk. Why, oh, why, Keen have you started narrowing the toe box in your shoes? You have a whole following of people who buy your shoes for the width and now you change? I am so disappointed!

I have several different pairs of Keen shoes and have generally been pleased with them for their wide toe box, function and practicality. So when I needed a new pair of trail shoes I bought the Keen Mrshalls. Unfortunately these are the worst pair of Keens that I have ever owned and would not recommend them to anyone. Initially the fit seemed okay but as others stated they have very little arch support. After inserting insoles they seemed like they might be okay but after approximately 10 trail hikes the mesh on both sides of each shoe has ripped apart leaving large gaps. I have worn other shoes with mesh tops (my favorite continue to be Montrails) that have held up for significantly longer periods of time. The quality and durability of the Marshall, along with its price tag has prompted this review. I am wondering if Zappos would like them back as they are now useless to me. Do not get these shoes.

I've been wearing Keen shoes for many years. I have purchased more than 10 pairs over the years. I have always loved their good support, different look, and long wear. I recently bought this Marshall shoe and find myself let down. The support is low to moderate and the stability and quality is not what I am used to with Keen. I tried the Marshal WP first, but found the sizing was on the small side for me. I also tried the Targhee, but found the tongue odd and it would not lay down right. The one shoe that I know I like is the Wichita. I wore out one pair of them, and might have bought it again, but I went with the brighter, sportier Marshall. Eh, I'll wear these Marshall's with an arch support for now and watch what new ones they come out with next time around. Still love Keen.

I bought these for my Mother. She has had toenail issues that caused a lot of discomfort. Her podiatrist recommended shoes with room in the toe box so that it would not agitate it any further and allow healing. Since she works on her feet all day in a factory setting I wanted to get her something a little more rugged than the sneakers she's used to wearing. This fit the bill perfectly. Not only does she find it comfortable the added room in the toebox is helping her toe for a speedy recovery. I should have gotten her Keens a long time ago. Other than the toe box the length is true to size and width is mid size up to the toebox which is very roomy. This is a great shoe for people with issues in their toes or have "Duckshaped" feet.

I'd also recommend: New Balance, Merrell

I love the Keen brand. These are the first enclosed shoe I've purchased by Keen and I doubt I will ever purchase another brand. The toe box is wide and comfy. I usually buy a 10 in Keen though I wear a 9 in other brands, like Ecco. My heels almost always slip out of shoes, but don't slip out of this shoe. I can fit my custom orthotics plus Spenco coverings into the shoe and my heel still does not slip out of the shoe. I removed the insole they came with, and even if I didn't wear orthotics, I might consider replacing or supplementing the included insoles with another insole. But like the Keen sandals, the sole of the shoe is thick and absorbs a lot of the shock you get from walking. Buy Keen! Keen is amazing!
