Excellent boot. Well constructed, flexible enough (it is a boot, after all), easy to put on/take off and tie. My 5-year old has wide feet and is extremely sensitive. He had a minimal complaint about the top of the shoe rubbing his ankles, but only once. He can run in them and they seem to hold well in the cold (we've only gone down to low 30s, though). Highly recommend this brand.

Keen makes a great shoe, and this is no exception. I wanted this boot for my just-turned-2 year old's winter adventures given it's waterproof outer and relatively flexible sole (compared to say, Sorels or Kamiks). The insole is amazing: there's so much support throughout the heel, arch and even forefoot. But these shoes are Wide. Super wide. Great for your kiddos with "Flintstone" feet! On the other hand, my little guy has long, narrow feet (big for his age!) and with the size 9's he had a hard time getting around when wearing these boots. In addition to the width, they are heavier than he is accustomed to (we are Tsukihoshi fans - super lightweight!) and I think that added to the difficulty. Note: the weight is not any worse than other snow boots out there. Had these been narrower, I think we probably would have kept them and let him get used to walking in the new shoes. I'm definitely sad to see these go back because they are just so cool.
