Keen Coronado

I love these shoes! I had to order another color because the grey/pink pair are getting too scroungy (is that a word?) to wear out of the house (one too many trips to riding lessons with the kids). I had to add an arch support to them, though, as the arch that comes with them is hardly there. They're comfortable and cute. A word of caution, however: if they get dirty and you want to clean them, do not wash them in OxyClean! I did that with my grey ones and they came clean alright, but most of the color came out, too.

I love my Keens! I bought a pair of these a while back and have worn the sole through, so I am off to buy another pair once they restock the brindle in my size. The only problem: If the sole it comes with is supportive enough for you, then these should be fine straight out of the box. I have super high arches and I walk a ton, so I use special inserts. Without the Keen removable insert these have zero shock absorption. To combat this I put in two inserts: a cheap Dr. Scholl's gel insert (for shock absorption) on bottom and my fancy one (for support) on top. Luckily they were roomy enough to allow for this. I don't know if anyone else has had this problem but it was absolutely necessary for me. My favorite thing about these shoes is that they can take a beating and still look pretty new. I wore mine to death so the sole finally gave way, but the visible portion still looks fine. Credit to the fabulous toe guard and thick, durable canvas.
