I liked these a lot, but found them a bit narrower than other Keen. This particularly bothered me in the heel, which felt a bit unstable for hiking with a pack. I almost bought the Targhee, but ended up with keeping the Glarus because it was so stable.

Awesome hiking boots; I hike 3-4 times a week and they're terrific at handling roots, rocks, steep climbs, snow, and marshy streams. Wore them the day I received them, fit perfectly (I'm a 7) and never felt uncomfortable.

My shoe closet contains evidence of my Keen fan status. Between us, my husband and I own no less than 7 pairs. These particular hiking boots have quickly become a new fave. They are light, sturdy, firmly supportive, and solidly constructed. I like the option of lacing them like a sneaker, or utilizing the support of the top two ankle laces, which are also non-slip in a unique way. I'm glad I took the advice of another customer to get them a size larger than my normal woman's 10. I got the woman's 11, which fit perfectly. Much happy hiking will occur in these! Recommended for sport lovers who desire strong support with a lighter boot. You are not dragging around heavy chains with these.

These Alamosa Mid WP boots are waterproof and very comfortable. I took them snowshoeing in Crater Lake and they were perfectly dry even in several feet of snow. I initially tried the Targhee Mid but found the ankles to be restrictive and uncomfortable. Both shoes fit about a half size smaller than marked with the Targhee Mid running a bit bigger than the Alamosa Mid.

I am incredibly happy with this purcahse. Took no time to break in. I wore them for 6 days hiking at Glacier National Park. It was warm, cold and rainy while we were there. These boots held up in all conditions. I prefer my shoes snug but went up a half size and was happy with the size 8 (I normally wear a 7.5). If you plan to wear a haeavy sock I could see possibly ordering up a full size. Comfortable, durable and as stylish as you can get for a hiking boot. Can't wait to take them up the Inca trail.
