I ordered these boots for my son. He loves them and they are very comfortable and warm for the cold temps as he rides ATVs and plays in the snow. I would recommend these boots to all that love winter.

I recently moved from Texas to the NE. I got a chance to break these in with the December 26th Blizzard. I am now a Kamik fan. Some of Kamik's boots are made in Canada, these are from China, but the quality is very good. They are well insulated and roomy in a size 11. I would say someone with an 11 and a half would fit fine in these. I am able to put orthotics in one boot and not the other and I cannot tell the difference in fit. The insulation envelops the foot. The tongue is not fully to the stitched to the top of the boot, so it's officially waterproof about ankle high. The laces are extra long and are good for doubling up on the speed hooks. I spent 5 hours clearing snow the other day and my feet were warm and dry. We got 30 inches with drifts as high as 5 feet. With my pants tucked in my feet never felt wet even in knee deep snow. I did notice some of the leather stained my socks from the tongue of the boot, but I never felt this moisture. All in all a solid winter boot.

No matter how cold the rest of your body gets, your feet will be warm. Super comfy. It takes a while to lace up, but it's worth it if you want to stay warm.

I have bought the 2007 model and I have loved these boots as my feet were always dry and warm, the design very modern and even despite the lace problem, which is a definitive con: The lace hooks were so sharp, that I went through quite a number of lace pairs (during a continuous use about twice a week!). Another very big con was, that only after about three years of use (during this time all together a max. of about 3 to 5 months of wearing time) the shoes fell literally apart. The seams came off the lower rubber part and also the sole came off on one of the shoes. As this happened during a snowy hike in the Alps this was extra disappointing. My retailer told me that Kamik improved the problems with this shoe but even though, I loved the boot while it was working, I kind of lost my trust in Kamik with this model; especially after I read a review on the recent 2011 Patriot 3 boot, where someone also reported the problem about the laces.

After a great deal of searching last year, I thought I found the perfect boot in the Patriot. Wrong! Last month I was at lake Tahoe and hiked in about 6" of snow and was outside for about 4 hours. Not only did both boots leak but the seam where leather meets rubber wore the skin off my ankles. I don't know if Zappos will refund me or not, but I am getting Sorels right away.
Brands I'd also recommend: Sorel or UGG
