This shoe is made of a very nice quality leather. But the wide is not wide at all, just a bit deeper than average. My daughter complains that the ankle area hits her too high. We have better fitting options for her uniform, so these will go back.
I'd also recommend: Keens, Naturalizer, StrideRite sometimes

This is a great shoe for my daughter who wears a woman's size in 6th grade. They are very sturdy for the playground and running around, but dressy as well. It has remained intact with no scuff marks on the leather which is not the same as I would say about other brands. I will continue to buy this shoe again and again!

These shoes were perfect -- just what I was looking for. My 11 y/o daughter wears woman's size 8 shoes, but needs little girl shoes for her school uniform. These fit well, and were age appropriate. Thank goodness for Zappos or I don't know how we would find shoes for her. Narrow width was nice and narrow.

Size is absurdly off. Zappos' size chart says that Woman's US size 8.5 corresponds to EU 39 and foot of 9.69 inches. Although these are children's shoes, the listing specifically states that they are sold in adult sizes. The 8.5 is huge, and, according to its package label, is EU size 42. Good luck figuring out what size to order. They seem to be decent shoes, but the size variation is not moderate. How does one order when even the EU sizes have no correspondence to foot size?
