I have yet to find a shoe that felt as good from the start as the Clarks Duke. That shoe is discontinued, sadly. This one is the closest so far, even though it required a few days of break in before it felt really comfortable. Also, the soles are pretty squeaky on the painted concrete floor I walk on most of the day.

The best-looking, most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. At first I was hesitant buying these because of the price. I bought them from a department store in Amarillo while I was visiting my mother. I had only taken one pair of shoes with me for the trip down, probably all I needed but while in the store looking for socks I wandered over to the shoes. I had developed a slightly painful porokeratosis (clogged sweat gland) next to my big toe on my left foot and hoped I might find a shoe with a little larger toe box for comfort sake. I tried these on, bought them without hesitating and two weeks later bought an identical pair through your store. So there! Josef Seibel has my vote for my shoe wardrobe. And Zappos had the right price. Plus, Zappos got them to me in two days! Thanks Zappos.

Great Seibel Walts - These shoes are great! They are comfortable the moment you slip them on and each time after. I would recommend these to those who have to work on hard surfaces at work but are required to wear a dress shoe.

Great walking and business work shoe. The rubber sole reduces the shock on the heel.

Some surprises, but great shoe - Surprised at thin leather (for a cold weather NE person, this is important). Also, the front part of the shoe looks a lot wider in person than online (duck-like). The color when new is red-brown. After wearing for a couple weeks, have gotten used to the shape of the shoe and the color has darkened to more brown. Overall great shoe, fantastic comfort.

The soles on the Walt and Vijay are too thin. What happened to the thick rubber soles on the older Josef Seibel shoes? These shoes have soles that are too thin and slippery. I will purchase no more of this brand until quality is restored.

These shoes are pretty cool. They are not too European looking; I'd say they have a timeless style that an old man could wear in any era. Perfect mix of casual and dressy and they live up to the “comfort� in the name. You can wear them all day, walking for miles and not get any blisters or anything. The only knock on them (which is slight but, hey, you asked...) is the soles are a little squeaky on some floor surfaces. Perhaps this will lessen over time and it probably wouldn't even bother most folks anyway. I think I should get an extra pair in case I lose them or they wear out, that's how much I like them.

This shoe fits really well. The toe box is extremely roomy and the shoes are very light. Unlike other shoes which tend to slip off the back, these are so light and flexible they move up with the foot with no resistance. They did take a couple of days or so of breaking in. The soles are very thin. You can feel stones through the sole. However, the shoe is very stable. As far as looks go, they are more retro -- they look like the shoes my school principal used to wear in the 70s. I found them quite ugly and wanted to return them, but my feet are weird (very wide in the front and narrow in the heel), and there are very few shoes that fit well and this is one of them.

Very comfortable shoes. They are a little wider than I would prefer (I have a narrow foot). European sizing is always a mystery to me.

I really liked these shoes. They were extremely comfortable. Unfortunately the soles wore out well before the rest of the shoe. I tried contacting the company and they said they do not offer resoling. I also took them to a local shoe repair, but they said they couldn't fix them. Seems ashame to toss them.

This is one of the best purchases I've ever made. These shoes are wide and comfortable. I could wear them for 12 hours without taking them off.

I like the color and style of this shoe. It's quite light and pretty comfortable. Not a great shoe if you have high arches-- no real support there. I'm not sure yet if the light weight will equate to low durability. I have noticed that the leather gets wet and darkens no matter how much Wet Pruf or polish I put on the shoes. I'm not sure if that's because of the type of leather or the process or what?

As advertised. I usually order a half size larger shoe as I have a wider foot and it fit well so it comes a little wide out of the box. Hope it holds up well as it is a very light shoe. Good looking reddish color that stands out from your typical browns.

I already own a pair of these, which is why I bought the second pair -- most comfortable office shoes I've owned, but the soles wear out a little too quickly, with the hollow poly-something mold. I would give these a 5 except for two things: first, the sole as mentioned above; and the new pair started immediately shedding what seems to be a plasticized painted polish outer layer. The layer came off in irregular pieces leaving leather below of a slightly lighter color. So the shoes look like their molting. I live in Africa, and a colleague brought them to me, otherwise I might have returned them.
