Adore these boots. They look great with tights or leggings. With a dress, skirt of pants. I have the hardest time finding comfy shoes with any type of heel. This shoe really works for me. On my last biz trip I ran through the airport in them, and my feet did not hurt. Can you believe it?!

First of all, I don't know what defines hook and loop closure. Velcro? Had the description actually said velcro closure I would not have purchased these. I do not like velcro on shoes that I pay this much for. At this quality I expect an adjustable buckle. There is nothing adjustable about velcro. Socks, hose, and clothes gets caught on the velcro. Velcro is on too many shoes I pay this much money for. I don't like the crinkle look either. Reading the other reviewers comments about how cute this boot is, I cannot find anything cute about it. All that being said, the boot is very comfortable. I wore these and ran around the house playing with my dog, and they did not bother my feet/ankle at all,and I've had surgery on my right ankle and left knee, so comfort and support is important in the shoes I purchase. I am undecided whether I will keep these. I would have preferred a neutral brown to go with dress slacks, but these boots look great with jeans. Undecided whether to keep or return. I am trying to get past the price for velcro. I wear size 6, and ordered the 36. Fits great.

I like this shoe. The olive color is a versatile neutral. It has a soft flexible sole that makes it feel more like you're barefoot. The width in the toe box is the only reason I'm returning these. They don't fit my fat feet. Why do shoe designers want to cram your toes into a knot at the front of the shoe? Just asking in case some designer is out there listening.

Wow, these are the best short boots I have ever had! I tried them on at a major department store before I bought them from Zappos (I usually do) because I noticed they do not come in a Wide. But it seems that European shoes are made wider and they fit great. They look great with just about everything and can be worn all day in total comfort!

I have extremely small ankles, 7 inches around the bone, the velcro on these boots can make them tight enough to not have a huge gap around the ankle. I usually wear and 5/5.5 or 36 in shoes, but this 36 is big, I had to add and insole for these to fit better. I agree with the reviews that say the heel does not feel high, I have knee issues so I only wear comfortable shoes (running, hiking boots or sneakers). I tried almost every black ankle boot in existence and these are the ones I am keeping because of the velcro. I think they will look cute with pants or short skirts, they do have a very whimsical wizardy feel. They elongate the foot, which is strange for my tiny feet to look long. I would order more Josef Seibels if Zappos carried size 35.

I have these boots in black. I just love them! I wore them around Europe on a 10-day trip in December. Some days I walked 10 miles and some of that over cobblestones. These were so comfortable. They also look attractive, especially from the sides. I want to wear them every day! This is my first season with them and I hope they hold up well. (My Josef Seibel sandals did not hold up all that well.)

I dislike having to return these lovely boots. But they are too big. Seibel and Reiker footware brands, my favorites, are exquisitely crafted. Alas, my feet are not.

Love the boot, leather is soft; however, I should have ordered a smaller size. European sizes can be confusing when you're used to one US size, so I will not be able to wear these with thin hosiery. First time wearing, it was an all day affair and my feet were in heaven. May order another color, but smaller. Style is great for me, since I'm a shoe-boot gal.
