Josef Seibel Reviews
Is this a shoe or a gun boat? It's huge! I normally wear a 9.5 so I had to order the size 41; it is at least one full size too big. Too bad because I can tell this is a great shoe. Soft leather and well made. Very cute. Sad to say that I have to send this one back. :(
I purchased these shoes in River Blue and I love them! I feel that the shoes run small, however. I usually wear a size 8 or 8 1/2, which calculates to size 39. I asked to try the 40 which is a 9 and they fit great! Not at all too large! Keep this in mind when ordering?
These shoes (they are like a mary jane shoe rather than a sandal) seemed to run a little big. I normally take a 37 but that was way too big and the 36 fits fine even with lightweight smart wool socks. As someone else mentioned the European look of this shoe takes some getting used to, but I am keeping them for the comfort and support they offer. The look is actually growing on me as I wear them around the house every day. I have a lot of foot problems but these don't hurt my foot at all (a miracle)! The leather is really good quality and so is the construction. I was torn between these and the Finn Comfort Quebec but found these to be better looking (in that European way) and more comfortable, not to mention a lot cheaper. I don't normally scrimp on my shoes because of my foot problems but I was really happy that the Josef Seibel Frita fit better and felt better for half the price of the Finn Comfort. A great choice and I am ordering a second pair in black. I needed a heavier soled shoe to wear on a city walking vacation that is coming up and these are perfect! These are very casual looking but look great with pants and jeans.
I couldn't wait to get these shoes as I have Josef Seibel sandals & they are terrific! These shoes were not true to size -- much smaller through toes & actually felt like one size too small.
I was looking for a Chuck Taylor look-alike shoe when I bought these to go with red/white striped overalls, and they are great shoes. If I had the money, I'd buy in other colors, too. They run a tad narrow, but not too much. The arch support could be better, too. Nevertheless, I'm very pleased with them. The leather is really as smooth as advertised and the workmanship is outstanding. I wore them with "footsies" instead of socks and they fit perfectly. I sure wish they came in black/white. The darkest color is only a dark gray/green.
Shoe is very comfortable but the fit is a bit wide. However, please note that I do have a narrow foot. Good for walking in the city.
Not satisfied with the quality of this shoe which I feel has gone down. I have purchased many Josef Siebel shoes in the past and have been very pleased.
I wear a 9 and these were a bit large. I would exchange them except for one thing. They look well-crafted, nice leather, probably very comfortable with the right size; however, the heel only looks stacked. Why make shoes of this quality if after the first few months they will always look down-at-heel? At this price, they are not throwaways. I will try another style from Seibel that can be kept looking sharp.
I own 2 pairs of this shoe and wear one or the other every day. They are so comfortable and cool for summer. I would recommend them in a heart beat.
So cute! With skirts, with jeans, with shorts. Very light on the foot. I float between an 8 and an 8 1/2 medium, and the 39 fit beautifully. Nice cushion, not sure about arch support (I have a very high arch) but they are supremely comfortable. Taking them to Europe next week! I bought the black, which is on the lighter side. In other words not a deep dark rich black, but black nonetheless.
This is not a good shoe. Yes, they are comfortable, but as several others have noted also, the soles crack very easily. I bought 2 pairs, and within 3 months, all soles on both pairs were cracked. I expect a shoe to last quite a bit longer than a few weeks.
Excellent Service. Beautiful shoe. Fit very small so if you have womens size 11 like me there are no options for this shoe.
The best! Most comfy. Attractive. Lightweight. Good female version of the fisherman's shoe. I found it to be perfect in every way.
Not thrilled for the price. My foot is generally a perfect 9. My feet sit weird in these shoes, and fall off the side, and, no, adjusting the Velcro strap helps. They are just not that comfy either, for being ticketed as a "comfort shoe." I should have returned them, but I wore them out.
Excellent arch support, fine construction; color Creme is wonderfully versatile; debating about returning them only because they make my feet moist, which I wouldn't expect with Seibel (I live where summer days are in three digits). Have never had happen with Clarks (any of their 3 lines), Born, Seibel, Sofft. Curious. But bless Zappos' superb return/swap policy. And as always, experience with someone in Zapponia was delightful.
These are the most comfortable sneakers I have ever owned. Good, all day, arch support. Lacing allows me to "loosen up" for my little bit wide foot. Love them.
The shoe is very stylish, I've received many compliments. It has a lot of room in the toe bed, but not a very soft sole. It's a cute shoe, but not one to walk around Disneyland.
Very comfortable shoes and lighter weight than most walking shoes. I wore them all the time I was on a recent tour and my puppies were very happy.
