Johnston Murphy Ski Moc review - Zappos has excellent service, period. The Ski Moc is a good quality shoe, I've seen better in the past. JM quality control needs sharpening. 1st pair had one shoe longer than other, both marked 11d. Insoles a little lumpy on final pair, but not worth mailing back for exchange. Design is clean, and for a hard sole shoe it's comfortable.

Overall happy with this shoe - I am happy with my order, but would feel better if the shoe offered greater padding and arch support as I do have a minor problem with heels of my feet. I feel that built in padding and support is much better than trying to purchase slip in or inserts.

MUCH LARGER than listed. - 12 felt like 14. I ended up getting 10.5. Shoe isn’t the most comfortable - but it looks great.

Truly versatile piece of nostalgia - This shoe does harken back to the 60's when you wore this shoe for kicking around in your khakis and madras (urban folks had not yet discovered jeans) to a shirt, tie and sport coat. Today, this shoe is even more versatile, coordinating well with jeans to suits. Those not accustomed to "breaking in" a pair of shoes will need to negotiate that terrain (hint: start slow around the house), but will be rewarded for the effort. Shoes like these just make you feel better about yourself, in a good way. One caveat, I too found these about 1/2 size larger than marked, and with a slip-on shoe, the fit is of more critical concern.

This was my first time purchasing shoes on the internet. Other than being about a half-size to large, the shoe was exactly what I expected. The exchange process was painless, in fact the replacement pair was sent to me immediately, even before they received my return shipment. They sent the replacement pair using two-day service, and did it as a courtesy. I will definitely buy from Zappos again.

Johnston & Murphy Ski Moc - It has been a number of years since I bought two pair of penny loafers from J&M. A burgundy pair which I recently wore out after many years and a black pair which I still have. The new pair is far inferior to the quality and comfort of the previously bought shoes. I would not recommend or buy another pair unless I needed a cheaper pair of shoes at a substantially lower price.

Classic penny loafer - A good value for the excellent quality in a classic penny loafer style. Johnston & Murphy has offered these for over twenty years and it won't go out of style. They can be worn with anything except a tuxedo, and are very durable. the leather is a bit stiff at first. Years ago, they used a better grade calfskin, I think.

Nice Shoes - Comfortable. I had to send back the first pair because they were too large. I usually wear 12, but the 11 1/2 fit me.

Very nice shoe - Looking for a classic penny loafer and these fit the bill. They look good with suits and with jeans. My wife could not believe I was buying shoes on line but has seen the great service and speed in getting the shoes. She may even try Zappos. Back to the shoe; it does run a half size too large. After wearing a 9D for 30 years this is the first 8.5D I have worn. Zappos handled the exchange with no problems. The shoe is quite stiff out of the box but over time should be OK. I was a little disappointed in how shiny the brushed veal looked compared to my Cole Haan pair.

Finally got the penny of my dreams!! This penny from Johnston & Murphy is a true classic. I used to wear penny loafers back in the sixties as part of a preppy look. (Preppy preceded Yuppie.) The brand of choice back then was Bostonian or Bass Weejun, but they don't make the old style pennies any longer or at least Zappos doesn't carry them. Bostonian now has a variation on the penny theme, but it's not the same. This JM Ski Moc is serious quality throughout and they are a sharp looking shoe. That said, I must say it took no less than 3 tries to finally get the right size for me. The 9EEE slipped in the heel. The 9.5D fits well and after only one wearing they are almost broken in. That's probably a testimony to the subtle calf skin leather used on the top. If you get this shoe don't even try them on until you've flexed the soles to free up some movement. Otherwise, you'll find them too stiff. I highly recommend this shoe and will buy a black pair next.

Gorgeous, Comfortable & Style - These classic loafers are the perfect addition to jeans, dress pants or khakis. The quality leather and stitching is premium. The fit seems to be exactly to size. I bought the same shoe in brown and wear one or the other every day to work. I've also gone out in style in jeans wearing these shoes. I would order them again, except that I think these will last a very long time.

Fine shoe - Great construction, very solid attractive looking shoe. Quite comfortable from the start, no doubt that they will last a long time. Beware of sizing though, order one at least a half size smaller than you normally would. Zappos handled the exchange wonderfully. Great store. Highly recommended.

One Durable Shoe! You cannot wear this shoe out. I have been wearing this shoe 5 days a week for the past 3 years and I am still on the original heel and sole. Caution: It does run true to size, i.e, very big. If you like a snug fitting shoe, you may want to go down a half size.

Liked it so much, I bought another pair - Very well made penney loafer, comfortable, good looking. Bought the black Ski Moc version, liked it so much, I also bought the Cordovan tassle Ski Moc (though I had to order that pair directly from J&M). Very pleased with the four pairs of J&M shoes I have purchased recently. They have replaced Cole Haan as my secondary shoe maker to Allen Edmonds.

Good - Took a bit of getting used to. I kept popping out of it but I stuck an insole in and now I like it. Except the dog ate the back of it today. I will take to a shoemaker tom and see if he can save it. :( But overall, a good shoe. A decent value.

Great Penny Loafer - This loafer has all the elements of classic ivy style penny loafer. Beefroll, kickback, and a great shape. It's not as dainty as some other penny loafers and has a more masculine shape to it. Doesn’t look like an old man's shoe either. The leather is corrected grain (boo) but doesn’t appear plasticky like most corrected grain leather shoes do. Soles is welted to the upper so you won't worry about cheap glue making the sole fall off. Very comfortable and didn't pinch, unlike the 2 other Florsheim penny loafers I tried before getting this one. It's definitely a shoe I'd buy again if mine were worn out or lost.

Great Fit - Great Look - These were purchased for a friend who thinks they are the most wonderful shoes he has put on his feet. Not only are they comfortable, fit well, and made well, but they also are a very good looking shoe.
