WAY TOO SMALL - 14EEE was anything but that. I own JM shoes and they are usually true to fit, but I could not even get my foot into this shoe.

One of the most comfortable dress shoes I've ever worn! Johnston & Murphy shoes have always been my favorite, but these are without a doubt the most stylish, comfortable dress shoe I've ever worn. I'm usually a 10.5, but the shoes ran smaller and a bit narrower than usual. Highly recommended!

Great shoe! Looked at other reviews and bought this shoe one size bigger. Very pleased with padding, look, and feel of shoe. I have three pairs of J&M shoes and they are all I wear at work all day. Well worth the money. Zappos shipped next day as promised for a flawless transaction. Thanks Zappos!
Brands I'd also recommend: J&M - any style (Stanza is awesome!)

Way too narrow of a shoe - J&M Usually fit well. However these shoes run very small. I even returned for a wide (EE). It was not. I did not want to order a full size larger and have an inch in the front of the shoe. Not a well designed Shoe!

First rate, classic dress shoe - Based on all the reviews here, I nervously ordered my usual 11 and an 11.5 just to be safe...but the 11 was spot-on, as always! Shoe is immensely comfortable immediately and required no break-in. Had a minor issue with the leather peeling away on the heel in the first 2 weeks, but I'm guessing that's an anomaly and the local cobbler sorted that out quickly.

Great shoe. Shoe looks great and is pretty comfortable once broken in. However, I ordered a wide shoe (11W) and it still feels pretty narrow, I would hate to see what the standard width feels like... Usually an 11W fits me perfect out of the box; J&M needs to re-think what they consider a "wide" shoe.

CLASSY AND SOLID!!! I have worn many pairs of J&M's in my time and happy to say that I still a very satisfied customer. The craftsmanship and quality of the shoe outweigh the price. Additionally, this was my first time ordering through Zappos and I couldn't be more impressed. I ordered the shoes Saturday night and they were on my doorstep at lunch on Monday... unbelievable!!! The shoe is extremely true to size and I plan on ordering all of my shoes from now on through Zappos.

Wonderful shoe! After wearing the shoe for a full day and walking around the office all day, the shoes were just as comfortable as the shoes I've broken in for months. Great shoe!

Nice shoe - Dressy shoe with a clean, sharp look. My older J&Ms have a better sole and arch support which was a little disappointing. Shoe is also on the narrow side, which is important to consider if you require a wider size. Overall, these shoes look great and I don't wear them when I have to be on my feet all day.

Pretty satisfied - The padding in the sole of the shoe is intended for comfort; however it does make it fit pretty tight. You might consider ordering a half size larger than normal. The shoe has a very good look.

Great looking, snug at first but stretch to comfortable fit - Shoes look great - I have a pair of brown as well, and ordered a black pair based on my experience. The shoes fit snugly at first, but stretch to a comfortable fit after a few times wearing them (snug around the top of the foot). Other than that they are pretty true to size, hold a great shine, and look great.

Yup...go with your athletic shoe size - I was in a pinch when I bought this shoe and was skeptical whether I needed a size 16 shoe for feet that normally wear a size 15 in a dress shoe. I'm a medium width, and going with the majority of reviews, decided to purchase the size 16. I'm glad I did. Initially the shoe was quite "stiff," but after a while, these shoes are one of the most comfortable pairs I own. They look great and keep my feet feeling good throughout the work day.

Shoe-less in Seattle - I normally buy ECCOS, but given the looks and to save $ I tried these instead. Great looking shoe, but they just don't breathe well. I'm hoping they continue to stretch. I have worn about half dozen times, and I still have to take them off mid-afternoon to give my feet a break. Ordered the wide size and they still run narrow. I like them enough to keep them, but I won't buy another pair.
Brands I'd also recommend: ECCOS - if you have wide feet.

Excellent shoe! I already own this shoe in brown and decided to get a black pair as well. Shoes were very tight, but have stretched properly after 3 times wearing them. Comfortable and so far durable.

Nice fit. Longer than I thought they would be and it took some getting used to. Several carpet trips later I find them to be extremely comfortable. Fine leather, however, the soles are a little thin.

The shipping was extremely quick and easy. The shoes were of a high quality and looked very nice when they arrived. I would say the only drawback is that the shoes felt a full size smaller than what was listed.

Honestly, I have to say these are a really good shoe. They're a classy shape and quite stylish, but at the same time provide sensational levels of comfort. The insole is heavily padded and the leather is very soft. The quality of construction is also impossible to fault. There is simply nothing negative to say; this is one of the few occasions when I've found a shoe that ticks all the boxes. Elegant style, quality construction, excellent comfort. And it's not just "good enough"; it excels at all 3. One word of warning, however: these do run quite small. Many others have said it and they're correct. You must order at least a half size up compared to your normal size. I order a full size up and they're quite a snug fit (I have many pairs of shoes and this is only the second time I've required a size 16. Typically I take a 15).This is my second pair. I need no other shoe for formal or work (office) attire.
