Like the style and have purchased Johnston and Murphy brand before. The first time I wore them got the usual break in period. They have rubber soles and the left shoe has developed a very distinct squeak wherever I go. Not sure how to fix it, but it is very aggravating. Seeing as how I paid so much for them, I would expect no squeaks! It may be the rubber soles as my other pair of J and M have leather/wood soles, but the squeak seems to emanate from inside the shoe. I do not recommend as I don’t think I can continue to wear them and since I have worn them 10 times or so, I cannot return them!

These shoes squeak. Very annoying and I wouldn't recommend you spend the money on these shoes because I am not the only person this has happened to. Like the review above, I too have purchased many Johnston & Murphy shoes in the past always being satisfied. This shoe on the other hand is a big negative. Nothing more annoying than walking down a quiet hallway with squeaky shoes. I just spent quite a bit on shoes that I refuse to wear anymore. I recommend the Rockport Schemerhorn if you like this style and don't want a squeak.

Like all the other reviews, I've had these shoes for a year and never wear them because of the squeaks. This is a loud squeak like walking with wet shoes. I've had multiple pairs of J&M shoes and these are the worst I've worn of any brand. If there was a lemon law for shoes, these would have surely been recalled.

This seems redundant, but I have the same complaint as everyone else about the squeak. I've had them for over 1 year, I rarely wear them. Not sure if I can return them to Zappos after all this time, but I would like to.
