Johnston & Murphy Casual Comfort - This is a good casual but dressy loafer that can be worn for almost any occasion with or without socks... Good choice and very comfortable.

Super - I have yet to try it on my feet at work, but I'm sure this one's a keeper. It looks great, and at least in the few minutes I've worn it so far, it's the most comfortable loafer I've ever worn. Stylish. Not your typical prep-school or grandpa loafer, though prep-school students and grandpas would look great in it. Looks good with socks or barefoot. Feels great either way. Not sure how long it'll last -- I've only just gotten it today. But it seems reasonably well-constructed. The sole is rubber, which is great for not sliding around clumsily like I do in my leather-soled shoes. But it's also stitch-down construction, so if the sole is glued on, it's stitched on, as well. (Personal preference. Glue on nice shoes annoys me, and stitches look better and last longer.) Definitely get this loafer if you're looking for one. It's not cheap, but it seems worth the price.

So far... These are my first Johnson & Murphy shoes. I have been wearing Rockport and Dexter in this style for a number of years. I have only worn the J&M for one day, but they are very comfortable, broke in quickly. To my eye they are very good looking and seem to have the quality workmanship that the price implies. I think these are a very good value.
Brands I'd also recommend: Rockport, Dexter

These shoes look really good on. They were comfortable right out of the box, and I thought "right-on"! Old-school loafer look without having to break them in. Unfortunately, they did not wear as well as I remember my old ones lasting. I have barely had these shows two months, and honestly, I have to throw them away and buy something else. Within a couple weeks the rubber on the heel was squashing over sideways and the toes were all chewed up like I was scuffing my feet long in gravel. I also did not like how the penny I put in the slot in the toe kept falling out. Old-school loafers had an actual slot, and I remember it being almost impossible to even get the penny in there, much less lose it. I was losing pennies left and right out of these things. Overall, not a good buy because they just do not last.

Ordered this classy classic for my husband. This loafer is perfect with Docker-type slacks and jeans. My husband appreciates the comfortable insole and prefers this style to Oxfords when traveling through airport security.

First, let me say that I've ordered from Zappos for a number of years. Zappos always gives me the best service and satisfaction. Now, about this shoe. It's an attractive shoe and very comfortable with its sheepskin leather insole. My concern is that the leather construction is very thin and I'm not sure it will hold up very long. The size seems to be about 1/2 size too big. I'll be returning this shoe in exchange for another, thanks to Zappos liberal exchange policy.

The Ainsworth Penny has a classic look and goes with anything. Right out of the box these shoes were very comfortable. I have worn them almost every day for a month and they still look new. The rubber outsole is comfortable and shows no sign of wear. I am very pleased and have purchased other J&M Ainsworth styles. I hope J&M will continue this style for a very long time. I highly recommend this shoe. As always the Zappos service is the best.
Brands I'd also recommend: Any of the J&M Ainsworth styles.

This is the perfect shoe for my current situation: it looks nice, has a flexible sole and a low heel, and it will be no great loss if it gets ruined. If you're looking for some great pennies, invest a few hundred dollars in a pair that will outlast your career. If you need something comfy and expendable but nice looking, here's your shoe!

I have owned several pairs of these and no longer recommend them. While the style is decent and they are very comfortable, they do not hold up. The leather is very thin and things like driving wear it down quickly. My last pair lasted three months before looking chewed up. Other reviews have noted this and they are right. Just pulled my last new pair out and it's amazing how mad the old ones wore.
