This is a solid, good-quality backpack with a lot more storage space than meets the eye. Unfortunately, however, there is no pocket that is easily accessible for a right-handed person while the backpack is on, even if I slip off one shoulder strap. The only way to access the outermost pocket is to fully take the backpack off and bring it around in front of me. Even for a left-handed person (the smallest pocket on the outside is on the left-hand side when worn) it's still an uncomfortable reach.

I wanted a good backpack on the sober side and this looks just like the ticket. It's a lot more spacious than it looks and quite comfortable. I've already had to carry a laptop, dslr with 2 lenses, notebook and a bunch of small stuff over a few miles and it was comfortable. The material feels like plastic, will hopefully be a lot more durable. The side straps make it a little strange to get things into it but will probably keep it from exploding if over stuffed, and I can't get used to the position of the handle, but that's probably me; also, I don't get the function of the lower handle and can't help wondering if it will snag on something. Shipping was blazing fast.

About JanSport
The story of JanSport bags and apparel begins in 1967 with three friends and their love for the outdoors. Jan Lewis, Murray Pletz and Skip Yowell lived in Seattle when they created their first framepack and the first panel loading daypack. Murray had just won a design contest for "The Best New Use of Aluminum" for the framepack the trio had fabricated in the transmission shop of Skip's uncle. Once climbers on Mount Rainier and other Northwest peaks saw the new pack, they wanted one for themselves. The rest is JanSport history.
The success of JanSport’s packs reaches across the globe and into various walks of life. For nearly 40 years, JanSport has provided world class bags and apparel that can take you anywhere and everywhere. Celebrating outdoor enthusiasts from the casual walker to the mountain climber, JanSport’s packs and apparel have got your back.
