A lot smaller than I wanted. Says big student but is no bigger than their other bags.

I love Zappos and have purchased many things from this website. This is a negative review for the JanSport Big Student backpack. I bought it for my 8th grader thinking it would serve her well for at least a few years, but now, merely halfway through 8th grade the thing is falling apart. I was a bit disappointed, frankly, when it arrived and wasn't as sturdily constructed as I'd expected. Now, the zippers are broken, everything is gaping open. Honestly, it's junk. It's annoying to know that I'll have to make her finish her 8th grade year with it as is, but will have to purchase yet another backpack for high school. I thought the JanSport Big Student name brand would indicate an ability to carry a load. Well, no. It's poorly constructed and both she and I are sad about this. It was not the cheapest backpack, and to see it with broken zippers after a mere four months of use, that's not right. It's junk.

We ordered this tote for our daughter for Christmas and she loves it! It is her favorite color,plus she wanted a tote with a place for a water bottle on the outside. She also likes the zipper on top so if it is raining or snowing the contents remain dry. This is a durable bag and is used every day. Zappos has great customer service, it arrived right on time.

My daughter loves this because she can fit all her stuff in it but it doesn't look big and bulky.

I love JanSport. This is the 3rd I bought. The first 2 were the smaller original versions. The first lasted 10 years and I still have the 2nd. I got this Big Student one is for my son for Christmas. He loves it and it has lots of room for all his school stuff. I hoping it will be tough enough for a teenager, so far so good.

The backpack is good quality, but the color is definitely not the color shown in the picture. It is much darker and is very close to the color of an actual putting green not the bright light green that is shown.

I got this bag as a gift for my dad to use for work. He loves it, it's the perfect size.

I bought this backpack for my 14 year old son for Christmas. He did not want a backpack that was too large. It ended up that he absolutely loves this pack. It is the perfect size and has all the right compartments for him. He also loves the color.

Classic design. The 1st thing I do when I get a Jansport is I borrow my grandpa's razor and slice off the Jansport tag. Then the queries pop in: "Ooh, where'd you get that bag?" I don't tell them and continue riding away while wearing my Triple 8 glossy black & red helmet. I feel naughty to be so styling!

Bought this for my 13 year old daughter and she loves it! Build quality seems to be good, she is tough on stuff and so far so good! Perfect size for her and she weighs in at 95lbs at 5'4" tall.

I got the B&W zebra pattern. It's black and white so it's not chromatically flamboyant but the zebra stripes lends an edge to my backside. :)

This is a nice backpack. It isn't flashy, but is sturdy and well made. It offers alot of space in the two large compartments, and many additional little pockets too. Great buy for the money.

This is a great backpack. It nicely holds my 13-inch laptop, 5+ text books, and my gym clothes. It also has a pocket or pouch for everything. My only complaint is that the straps are a bit difficult to get on and off because they are connected to each other by a handle, which makes swinging the backpack on and off while on the move difficult.

This is a great backpack for general use. It sits a bit low on the back. A sternum strap would make it fit better. But you can't beat the price.

We purchased this back pack for our 9 year old's birthday. It is roomy enough to keep her snow pants hat and gloves as well as her school books and a few small toys. It looks fantastic.

I bought this backpack for an upcoming one month vacation slash train trip. I like that it's well compartmentalized to keep me organized, I like that it's rather large in capacity without being overly ginormous, and I love that it comes in so many fun colors. The straps are comfy and the construction feels solid. My only real complaint is that the front pockets are so deep that it's difficult to access things when the bag is stuffed (as mine is right now). Definitely worth the price!

I bought this backpack for my nine-year-old daughter. So far, my daughter and I love it. It has plenty of room for everything she needs for school, and for the stuff she doesn't really need to take to school but does anyway. The backpack is very comfortable and seems to be well made. Also, the buying experience with Zappos.com is excellent. The backpack arrived in a very timely manner and in perfect condition.

This is a beautiful, exciting, and colorful design. It brings carrying school books, notebooks, and homework to a whole new level. My daughter's entire school life fits in here. It is spacious, confortable, sturdy, and oh so stylish and modern!

The backpack feels good to have, it got a lot of pockets (that's the reason I bought it) and it has a curved strap so you can easily take it off your back, the only thing I don't like is, the bigness, that thing pops out, so if you're small I don recommend it.

What a cute bag! I use mine for school. I carried some of the heaviest books in this bag, and it is very sturdy. I love all the different compartments, and the water bottle holder is great, too. My only complaint is that I wished the strap had more padding as it digs into your shoulders after extended use. Aside from that, I would totally recommend this bag.
