After 6 years of nearly daily use, my Jansport backpack is still in serviceable condition. It has no holes, the seams are intact and the zippers still zip. The only real wear I've noticed is the peeling of the inner water-proof coating. It's comfortable to wear and the straps are easily adjustable. It's big enough to hold a pair of roller-blades.

Very unhappy with this Jan sport back pack. Bought it for my high school-er and within six months the bottom suede had a large hole where the corner of her books rested.

This is a great backpack. It is large enough to stuff everything inside - books, lunch, jacket and even extra shoes. It has held up really well to use this year. I think we will be using it for several more years.

I expected this backpack to be as sturdy as my last Jansport. It's not There's no reinforcement at the bottom, the fabric is lighter weight. Also, it's a large and roomy pack which is great when it's full, but there are no side straps to cinch it down when the pack isn't filled to capacity. It becomes really floppy. I'll keep it as a day pack for clothes and short trips, but not a great pack for just the media equipment and work supplies.

Many good reviews and I agree because this bag offers many colors and holds what is needed for a workday and trip to the gym. I generally keep a pop, deodorant, lock, magazine and small snacks in here with plenty of room. I sometimes carry a heavy bike lock in the main compartment also. I find the shoulder straps to be more than adequate even if they look flimsy. My only gripe is the main zipper getting stuck in the material too often, a surprise for this brand.

I started out loving this backpack. It's adorable, it's pretty pliable for canvas, and it holds a lot. I really like the side pockets. They were perfect for holding an umbrella or a water bottle. The straps and back of the backpack are nicely padded making it very comfortable to wear. I planned on using this backpack for an upcoming trip to NYC, so I was testing it out while I went to and from work. It worked well for smaller items (my lunch, papers, etc.) but failed when I filled it up more than that. When the bag is full or heavy, the top flap comes unsnapped. The snap is a snug-fitting snap, but it can't hold up to too much pressure. In my bag, I had my lunch and a small blanket, and the flap would not stay snapped closed. This makes the bag essentially unusable. In NYC I plan to put a jacket and any purchases I made in there, and I can already tell you that this bag wouldn't hold up. I certainly wouldn't feel comfortable walking around NYC with a backpack that's partially open for everybody to access or see. Alternatively, if you're a pickpocket, this bag is something you'd really enjoy seeing on the streets. Another issue I think Jansport overlooked was that the bag is unlined. Why? Why not just add a thin lining to it? It would look a lot better and you could add a small zippered pocket for more function. I am really sad that Jansport let me down. They should have foreseen the problem with the snap closure and invented a more secure one, like a fully-closing clip or a zipper.

Great size and very roomy, good quality, and nice classic design! My son loves it! It fits all his high school binders as they do not have lockers.

I bought this backpack for an upcoming trip to St. Lucia. I was looking for a "personal item" for the plane that zipped so my stuff wouldn't fall out everywhere. This size is perfect for what I wanted - not so big that it equals a carry-on but big enough for an overnight bag or day bag for excursions. Chose this over a tote because a backpack is easier to carry and more versatile in my opinion. Jansport makes quality stuff, I used their backpacks for years as a student. I got the navy moonshine and it's super rad! Adds a little personality. Great bag!

Loved the bag at first but within two weeks of getting it there was a giant hole in the bottom of the backpack. I can't use it anymore because of how big the hole is and the fact that all of my belongings will fall out if I put anything in there. I thought these bags were supposed to have a lifetime warranty but I guess not...

These are pretty terrible. The only reason we keep buying them is because our teen insists on having the same model and color every year. We are on the third Jansport this year. The first one broke at the zippers and before that it had gotten stuck soo many times that my son cut the extra fabric off to try and remedy the issue. Be bought a second one when the first finally stopped working. After just two or three weeks the second backpack met the same fate. At that point I called Zappos and they were amazing as always. They replaced the backpack. Best customer service and fastest shipping ever.

I have an older version of this backpack that I bought three years ago, and it's been through about as much abuse as one can inflict on a backpack used for school, work, and travel. This backpack simply does not die. It's made from very lightweight materials, but don't let that fool you into thinking it's not strong or durable. It's the only backpack I've ever owned that's still roomy despite all the pockets, and also comfortable to wear. The straps are thickly padded and just glide onto your shoulders without scraping your arms. Will definitely buy again!

Within just a month of purchase a hole was formed at the bottom. Carrying textbooks and putting it on the floor (normal wear for a teen) caused a hole in the suede bottom. Jansport has a lifetime guarantee, so I'm hoping they will honor this purchase since it wasn't from them.

I bought this backpack for my 13 year old daughter. She really liked the backpack and continues to like it but we are disappointed on how the color has faded and the backpack has deteriorated in just 5 months.

I'm a graduate student looking for a backpack to replace a massive purse I typically carry due to emerging back problems (thanks, genetics). I bought this backpack because I thought the color was pretty and liked that it had a laptop sleeve. I'm returning it because, despite the pretty color, the quality seems super cheap to me (I'd pay $20, maybe $30 for it- not $60). I think I'd rather spend a bit more for something from REI or North Face. Super pretty though! Just not sure it would hold up.

I have been searching for the right backpack for weeks and I finally decided on this one and I'm glad I did. There are so many choices and the price ranges are all over the place. I wanted a bag for travel that was lightweight and would fit enough clothes for several weeks. So many bags have a ton of bells and whistles but I just wanted functional. This bag looked deceptively small when I got it but I can fit five fully stuffed Eagle Creek Specter packing half cubes in the main compartment and still have room for flats, flip flops and three quarter cubes on the sides and in front and back. I was impressed that with all that in the main compartment I could still fit a bunch of toiletries in the secondary compartment since it's a couple of inches deep. Once full it was still comfortable to carry for my 5'6" frame. I especially love the corset feature that allows you to compress the bag to its smallest possible self. Great bag!

Great color selection, this is our second big student pack. You can't beat Jansport for quality. The kids fit everything in it, like a black hole for school supplies. Zappos rocks! for service!

A great bag for my fifth grader. Fits a lot and easy to maneuver! It does get pretty heavy to carry. However, it is best used as a rolling backpack.

This is my second time getting a Superbreak and for the most part I can say it's an amazing backpack. The first time I had this backpack the bottom of the front zipper pocket started to get some holes in it, not anything major but it was big enough that a pencil could fall out. That's mostly to blame on me because I was rough on it and always dragging it on the floor. Even with that in mind I highly recommend getting the Superbreak because of it's relatively fair price and it's variety of color choices. Also I'd recommend getting the black because it will look new for a long time.

It's a good bag. I took it to Europe with me, and it was roomy enough to carry all the things I needed. It has several subcompartments that make keeping this separated easy. I recommend it.
