First, it's very important to me that no animals were harmed in the making of my footwear. Who wants to wear dead cow's skin on their feet if they don't have to? Vegan leather = cruelty free, so that's awesome. Next, as soon as you open the box, you can tell these shoes are not your average sandals. The attention to detail is amazing. The stitching, the high quality of the material, the shape of the shoe. They remind me of how products were made decades ago before everything was mass produced in China. Even the packaging is high class (biodegradable bags)! Lastly, these fit like a dream. I have one foot that is a little bigger than the other. These shoes have an adjustable velcro strap in the back that gives you the perfect fit length wise. Also, you don't have that feeling of balancing on stilts that some shoes can give you. They're high heels but they're very stable.

This is my first pair of J-41 sandals. Usually I like to wear Born, Keen or Dansko sandals, but to find a cute, casual "heel" with a lightweight, supportive foot bed (that doesn't squeak, or leave marks!). It was worth trying a new brand - and I am so glad that I did! I know that the "strappy gladiator sandal" look is now quite popular, but I have never been that fond of straps visually cutting across the top of my foot - why shorten your leg length? But these St. John sandals, the way that the straps wrap (look at the Zappos top view) they accentuate and slim your foot, and the 'Nude' blonde beige looks great with a tan. I haven't had any problems with the Velcro back strap, and I am a 10M and these were a perfect fit.

I loved the way these shoes felt on and they way they looked, but I'll be sending them back because the velcro strap on the back ripped off the shoe when I was trying them on. Um...really? They also seemed to run a bit small. I'm usually an 8.5 regular, and I'd order these again in a 9 wide.
