The first pair of Irish Setters I purchased was in 2005. Incredibly durable and comfortable. At this rate I'll have to buy another pair in 2019. Best shoe I have ever purchased.

I have a very high instep, so most boots and chukkas are difficult to try on. These shoes have enough give with the elastic to allow me to slip my feet in. Once in, they hug the foot nicely, not feeling loose or slipping around as I walk. Grip from the soles are good and the shoes have some heft without feeling like bricks on the feet. Soles are comfy enough for wearing all day, leather is thick and looks like it will hold up for a long time. Based on the construction, it looks like they are well-made and also repairable if I ever wear out the elastic or wear down the soles. (Welted shoes can be resoled!) I have a feeling that these shoes will in my collection for a very long time - and worn often.
