I must admit, I've been loath to actually take them out on the trails just yet because it's been so nasty with mud, snow and ice. This review will be more about fit and first impressions. Once I use them, will send an update. Fit is good. Not quite as roomy in the forefoot as my size 9.5 Nike Lunar Glides, but a lot roomier than the size 43 LaSportiva Crosslites I'm currently using on the trails. Outsole is very aggressive, which is why I bought them. Big toe bummer should hopefully protect the little piggies. More to come, but so far so good.

Fits like a glove and does everything it claims. Went on 7 mile trail run after 2+ inches of rain in varied terrain and never missed a beat. Gonna get another pair for the shelf while the getting is good.

All Inov-8s seem to fit a little small on my foot. I have a pair of 230 PKs that also run small. I normally wear an 11 and I need an 11.5 in the 230, and a 12 in the 333 (which means I could probably wear a 12 in the 230 PK, too). Note that I'm not using these shoes for their intended purpose, rather I'm using them as a replacement for a football turf cleat for practical shooting sports. With that in mind. The 333s really bite every surface I've been on with them with grass, gravel, dirt, wood, concrete. I can run, cut, and stop without concern for slipping. I watched folks in normal cleats slip on every one of those surfaces. Functionally, these shoes seem pretty much perfect for my application. They look sharp, unlike the 272s, the subdued grey on the 333s go well with pretty much anything you want to wear. They are also very comfortable to stand around in all day on lots of (normally) uncomfortable surfaces like rocks, gravel, etc. I have no feel for how long they'll last, yet, but they've been worn for 7 or 8 days worth of shooting, and so far show very little in the way of wear on the sole. The uppers are still in perfect shape, if a little dusty. I'd definitely buy them again.

Based on a review of these shoes on Dave R's blog (also posted a review here) I bought a pair of these for practical shooting sports. I just finished my third match with them today, and they are fantastic shoes. Today was a sloppy, muddy mess, and I was one of the few that maintained my footing all day. These things generate great grip on grass, wet grass, mud, wood decking and gravel. I haven't had a chance to try them in sand yet, but I don't see why they won't be great there too. Lastly, these are a very comfortable shoe to wear all day long. For what it's worth, I wear the same size in these as I do in New Balance.

Comfortable shoes. Great traction. Living in dusty conditions has exposed a weakness. They fill up with dirt and dust.

About inov-8
All inov-8 footwear goes through extensive testing by enthusiasts and elite international athletes, to guarantee they perform like they should. Their whole design development process centers on optimizing the end user's performance. The uppers of inov-8 shoes are extremely functional with mesh in the forepart and tongues for maximum breathability. This creates a good climate that helps you run at your best. When you run through water and the shoe gets soaked, it creates a pumping action that expels the water from the shoe allowing it to dry quickly. The lace webbing is positioned allowing a secure foothold without altering the natural alignment of the metatarsals. The back of their shoes are cleanly cut which allows your Achilles tendon to experience high levels of comfort and minimum restriction- particularly when running down hill.
The inov-8 team is made up of experts with proven track records in the footwear fields of sports, mountaineering, marine, outdoor and industrial design and development. This linked with a strong bio-mechanics input, coupled with a test team of elite athletes in the mountain sport environment gives inov-8 the creative culture for next generation products.

These shoes fit exactly what I was looking for in a new hiking shoe. They're light weight, flexible, not overly bulky, excellent traction, and have good support. I just them on a test drive on a six mile hike with relentless steep uphill climbs and downhill decents. The traction is really amazing. I didn't slip once, though my hiking buddy couldn't say the same. They gripped well over loose leaves, smooth rocks, slick dirt, etc. My feet stayed comfortable the whole time and well supported. I also ordered the Roclite 315 to try and found these to be a much better fit. The Roclite was significantly wider, though the style was very similar. I wear a size 10 women's so often shoes get too wide when they get to that size. I'd definetly suggest these for a woman. Overall awesome, everything I wanted for a good hiking shoe.

Purchased a pair of these for a fund raising Mud Run. 6 1/2 mile run through mud, dirt, rocks, and more. They fit and felt great and I didn't slip once. So happy I got them and would recommend them to anyone!

I purchased these for practical shooting (USPSA), and they are great. The size is the same as most Nike's I have purchased. I like these better then baseball cleats because the provide better traction on hard surfaces like plywood, while providing a ton of grip on every other surface I have been on.

Purchased for practical shooting based on Dave R's review, bought half size larger than usual. Echoing problem of fine dirt/sand infiltration of other NM reviewer.

I bought these for a lighter trail runner with good traction. They are outstanding in every way except for the heel. The heel cup is a little shallow which led to a blister on my heel during my first 10 mile outing with them. I removed the insole and they work perfectly now (just took them on an 8 mile trail run - no blisters). I've taken them trail running, hiking and through the airports on vacation; they are excellent shoes. I normally wear an 11, but these fit me at a 10 1/2. The traction is amazing and the low profile means minimal foot roll on uneven surfaces.

I did about 40 hours of research for a great shoe to help me through a Tough Mudder event. This was what our team agreed upon. It worked out great on the course for hills and mud. I would recommend this shoe for any similar event. It took about a week worth of practice running to break them in.

Just did my first mud run and these were awesome. They didn't come off even when I was stuck knee deep in mud and I never slipped and fell. People all around me were losing their shoes and duct tape, sliding around but these stayed on the whole time with no tape or anything. They also rinsed off really well and then I threw them in the washer and let them air dry and now they are good to go again. Very happy.

Best hiking shoe! I bought these for my husband, and I can't get him out of them and he wears them everywhere, but for hiking the mountains he thought they were the best hiking shoe he's had!

I finished the 2012 Georgia tough mudder a couple of days ago. These shoes were awesome for the race. I didn't have any problems with slipping or sliding, while my team mates were all over the place. These are also good for hiking off the beaten trail, where leaves are thick and slopes steep. The shoe fits like a glove on my foot. No problems with rubbing. No excessive debris getting into the shoes, even in thick mud. I wouldn't recommend these as a primary shoe for road or packed trail surfaces. The cleats really need to sink into the trail for a comfortable run.

This is a very cool concept for a trail running shoe. Too narrow for my wide foot so I sent them back. I really wanted to run in these; they seemed like they would grip the trail and rocks with ease.

These are extremely comfortable. Some cleat-shoes make you dread walking or running any distance over concrete or flat-top, but with these, I have no problems wearing them to and from. The grip is absolutely phenomenal too. I use them for aggressive paintball play both on the Speedball field and in the woods fields and they have never let me down so far. I would get another pair if my current pair was worn out.

I love the idea of these shoes. There is great traction and they look great on. Unfortunately I had to return them because they were too narrow for my feet. I have normal sized feet and felt pain immediately when trying them on and walking around in them. It wasn't worth the money to try and break them in. I wear the F-lites all the time and love them.
