The hush Puppies Thrasher has a wonderfully soft footbed, which my 5 yr. old loves. It is lined in suede and has a nice real leather upper. It is not as flexible as I would like and may have been made for a wider ankle (my son has really thin ankles and narrow feet). He likes them and they should be sturdy for the playground. They fit very true to size, but might be good for a wide foot.
Brands I'd also recommend: We like Tsukihoshi, Polo, Morgan & Milo, New Balance, Stride Rite

They run big. My son wears either a toddler size 8 or 9 right now and when these came they were very large. I had to return them. I think the 7.5 will fit him now but I will reorder an 8 to be sure they will fit all summer. They look like great shoes. Quality leather and there is a lot of padding. The shoe has good foot coverage for a little guy who runs through the woods all day.

The sandals are so wonderful. They are built ford tough. My 4 year old child goes to daycare and these are the only shoes he likes to wear. He can put them on himself and his feet never slides around due to the material the sole is made of. They seem to be very comfortable and the sole is so cushion.

These shoes look great but don't purchase these or any other similar design if your son has a high arch. I bought these for my 22 month old, but his feet don't reach to the front owing to his high arch.

We have just finished the season with these sandals for my 2.5 year old son and though I love the way they look, I was very disappointed in how the velcro across the back held up. It now pretty much refuses to stay closed which makes the shoes want to flop off. I was very happy with the rest of the shoe but the velcro issue will keep me from buying this brand again.

These are so cute! I have such a hard time finding comfy cute shoes wide enough for my son's chunky feet. He is wearing between a 5-6 toddler now and so I got the 5.5W. Just got them today and was very disappointed I have to return them because they were too tight on the top part of his foot. Sucks b/c they are very nice! Would definitely recommend for a child with skinnier feet. ;)

I love these sandals so far. Very cushioned and easy to put on, with adjustable heel as well to guarantee a secure fit. My son, 1 1/2, seems to like them. One criticism: they are not too ventilated, but that also helps with greater support.

Love these sandals for my 2 year old! Very cute and comfortable for him to run around in. I like that they have velcro in the back. Makes for a great fit and also makes them easy to take on and off.

Very soft / squishy sole; however, the "wide" width ordered for my son wasn't nearly wide enough. His foot didn't come close to fitting into the shoe due the the width. I even verified on the shoe label that it was "wide". I was sad to have to return these.

Purchased these for my 1 year old and they are too narrow for his foot. He normally does not wear wides, but I guess these are cut narrow. The shoe feels light-weight, and are very cute, but I'm returning them.

I love these shoes! They are so cute, and they're perfect for dressing up for Easter or church on Sundays. I was also thrilled that they had an 8 1/2 because no stores have 1/2 sizes for kids, and I really needed a 1/2 size. My little one is right between sizes. I think they were delivered 2 days after I ordered them! Gotta love Zappos!
