The Hush Puppies Kids Geography (Toddler) shoes are perfect for my child's needs. He's 4 years old, and he's able to put these shoes on and off all by himself! The quality of the leather is soft however I didn't want my child wearing a big clunky shoe everyday. If you want a stylish nice looking shoe I say go for it and if they don't suit your needs Zappos has top notch Customer Service and they'll be more then happy to exchange them for you!

I bought these shoes for my 4 year old to wear with a suit to a family wedding they're so cute and will also be suitable once he starts school with both a formal and casual outfit.
Brands I'd also recommend: Stride rite

These shoes have not survived the first month of my 4-year-old's first year at school. The front of both shoes got scuffed beyond repair on the very first day. The stitching on the straps started to fray after a month, by November the velcro have almost completely separated from the straps, hanging only on the far end. I did not expect to have to buy a new pair of school shoes every 3 months.
