If you want a place where people appreciate the benefits of a well-fitting, waterproof boot, Scotland seems a natural choice. Mr. Henry Lee Norris most certainly thought so when he set up shop with his master boot makers back in 1856. Originally, Hunter rain boots were designed for traversing Scotland's rugged terrain and combating its unpredictable weather. Since then, the reputation of Hunter men's rain boots, Hunter women's rain boots and Hunter children's rain boots for performance, durability and outstanding comfort has become legendary worldwide.
Although their links to the present day cover over 150 years and an awful lot of advancement, there are things about a pair of Hunter rain boots that Henry would still recognize: the care, the craftsmanship, and the refusal to compromise on quality.
The first of the famous Hunter green Wellingtons were seen back in 1956. Ever since, they've been mastering the art of welly making for children and adults, by using the best of new materials, introducing revolutionary technology and replying on good old fashioned hand craftsmanship. What sets Hunter rain boots apart from the competition lies in part to a closely guarded secret process. The result is a much stronger, watertight boot that will perform under the toughest conditions.
Hunter is equally proud of the things that have changed and the things that stay the same. The weather's just as wet and the Hunter rain boots are just as good! Today, Hunter remains the preferred welly brand for men, women and children who like to work hard and play hard. Wherever your pursuits may lie, be they in a distant wooded field or amidst the bustle of city streets, Hunter has the perfect footwear for keeping up with your unique lifestyle.

These are perfect for a more rugged, rustic life-style. Too heavy and sturdy for rainy days in the city, but perfect at the barn, on the farm, in the mud, etc. I tried 4 pairs of boots and 3 different reputable brands (Le Chameau, Muck & Hunter), and this is the winning pair for me. I live on a small farm and make daily trips to the barn, so I can justify the price. For the city, I don't think I'd need anything studier than the Original Hunters.

Was looking for something more substantial than the original Hunter boots for farm chores and such. Although these were sturdy, I found them to be uncomfortable when I would walk. They would flex right at the shin but the rubber is so heavy, that it actually hurt when they would flex in the same place. Had to send them back.

I ordered these boots first and foremost because they are purple! That and they are supposed to fit 16" calf. I ordered size 10 (my usual dress/casual size) because the reviews went both ways. As it turns out, the 10 is way big! There's probably 2 inches between my toes and the end of the boot. Even so, they seem a little narrow compared to their generous length. I like the side vent (as opposed to the back vent on the Original Adjustable). They are thicker than the Adjustables as well, with their neoprene-type line. Sure wish they fit, but not sure if I will reorder. I'm afraid they will be too narrow in the size that fits.

Received boots super fast (Thanks Zappos VIP, you guys rock as always) I live in my regular Hunter boots (and go through them quickly as walk many miles a day walking my dogs). Was hoping these would be a longer lasting version but the bulky top makes my legs look too chunky unlike the regular Hunter Boots which are quite flattering. Also the slash looks like someone took a knife to the boot. For the price and considering this is Hunter I am surprised. Have to return ...back to my regular Hunters

Just received the Balmoral and was very disappointed. Unlike other Hunter boots, I felt the shoe was sized smaller and narrower. I had a horrible time trying to get the boot off and was about to panic that I couldn't. The boots material is very substantial and more than I need for just city walking/ dwelling. I'm sending these back and getting a pair of the Original Hunter boots.
