Hobo was founded in 1991 by Toni Ray in Annapolis, Maryland on her dining room table.

Toni had been creating unique accessories for years as the co-founder of Georgetown Leather Design in Washington, DC., the 'in' place for the hippie crowd to buy cool leather goods during the 60's and 70's. In those days, the bags were made by hand in the basement of the shop. Toni's handcrafted leather goods were soon recognized as being fashionable and hip. Every piece had her signature style.

Then in 1991, she cashed in her life-savings, bought a beat-up van and convinced her daughter and future son-in-law, Koren and David, to head to New York to sell the first 'Hobo' collection.

Her philosophy for Hobo; women's accessories should be both stylish and practical. Toni believed that quality and 'cool' never go out of style. Her passion for creative design and purposeful details became a way of life at Hobo.

This philosophy resonated with women everywhere who were looking for fun, functional accessories to express their individual style. Over the years, Hobo's handbags and small leather goods have earned a loyal following for their practical features, iconic shapes and affordable pricing. WWD has called Hobo one of the country’s most "fun and funky" accessories brands.

In 2006, Toni turned over the brand to Koren and David Brewer, her family and business partners for those fifteen years. The second-generation Hobos follow the founding principles of fashion and function and still infuse the same passion and creativity into their vision for this ever-expanding lifestyle brand. Koren and her design team stay true to Toni's early philosophies, while exploring new and innovative ways to meet the needs of today's busy, fashion-savvy woman. As an added plus, Koren and David are thrilled to have Toni living two doors down to serve up handbag wisdom and help out with the couple's four kids.

Twenty years later, the Hobo brand has come a long way from handbags designed on the dining room table to a multi-million dollar accessory business. In March of 2012, Hobo opened its first flagship store in downtown Annapolis, MD, showing support and loyalty to its hometown and local community. The true heritage spirit of crafting fashionable, smart accessories in quality materials remains the driving philosophy of the company today.

Love, love this bag! Perfect for going out for the night to a show where you don't want to carry much and need your hands free. Small enough to allow you to dance all night long! Plus its very stylish. :) Super happy with my purchase! Highly recommended!

I absolutely love this purse. It is very small and compact, perfect for traveling, which is what I bought it for. I was able to fit my camera, cell phone, and a small wallet in it. I loved the fact that it was a crossbody and small, left my arms free of holding a bulky purse while on vacation. I love the color too!

Cute but way smaller in person than in I figures from the photo. Too small to comfortably fit my iPhone, lipsticks and money. But a smart, simple edgy style for the gal that doesn't need to carry much.

I have this bag and my friends are amazed at the versatility. Because of the strap; it can be used as a clutch (removed), wristlet (just the leather portion of the strap) or cross body. It holds my iPhone, small camera, lipgloss, keys and a few credit cards/bills. Worth every penny!

The truth about "Zara." This little purse/wallet has leather that I love to touch and smell. It is very rich in look and feel. The zipper opens to the inside which has a zippered area. Since the chain can be detached and has two lobster clasps, it can be used as a single cross-body or doubled and used as a shoulder bag. Where the wallet folds over, there are strong magnets which help it stay closed, even when full. Under that flap are 4 slots for credit sized cards. Dollar bills could be put there as well. No place for change unless you use the inside zipper which is possible but not convenient. The side flap on the outside can be used for receipts, notes or a very slim cell phone. The Negatives: If you must carry a cell phone, glasses, small notebook and "other" items, this small purse is not for you. Despite the clever design for its size it is not for those who need space. Two inches wider and one inch deeper would have made this purse so adorably useful! Bottom Line: If you do not carry much, this purse is very handy for its size.
