Toni had been creating unique accessories for years as the co-founder of Georgetown Leather Design in Washington, DC., the 'in' place for the hippie crowd to buy cool leather goods during the 60's and 70's. In those days, the bags were made by hand in the basement of the shop. Toni's handcrafted leather goods were soon recognized as being fashionable and hip. Every piece had her signature style.
Then in 1991, she cashed in her life-savings, bought a beat-up van and convinced her daughter and future son-in-law, Koren and David, to head to New York to sell the first 'Hobo' collection.
Her philosophy for Hobo; women's accessories should be both stylish and practical. Toni believed that quality and 'cool' never go out of style. Her passion for creative design and purposeful details became a way of life at Hobo.
This philosophy resonated with women everywhere who were looking for fun, functional accessories to express their individual style. Over the years, Hobo's handbags and small leather goods have earned a loyal following for their practical features, iconic shapes and affordable pricing. WWD has called Hobo one of the country’s most "fun and funky" accessories brands.
In 2006, Toni turned over the brand to Koren and David Brewer, her family and business partners for those fifteen years. The second-generation Hobos follow the founding principles of fashion and function and still infuse the same passion and creativity into their vision for this ever-expanding lifestyle brand. Koren and her design team stay true to Toni's early philosophies, while exploring new and innovative ways to meet the needs of today's busy, fashion-savvy woman. As an added plus, Koren and David are thrilled to have Toni living two doors down to serve up handbag wisdom and help out with the couple's four kids.
Twenty years later, the Hobo brand has come a long way from handbags designed on the dining room table to a multi-million dollar accessory business. In March of 2012, Hobo opened its first flagship store in downtown Annapolis, MD, showing support and loyalty to its hometown and local community. The true heritage spirit of crafting fashionable, smart accessories in quality materials remains the driving philosophy of the company today.

Adorable little purse. The small scale keeps me in check from carrying too much stuff around with me. The buckle-side strap seems as though it was sewn on to the purse backwards, so the buckle wants to turn in toward your body as you carry the purse. I was about to package the purse up and send it back thinking it was a manufacturing defect, but checked the photos on Zappos -- it seems it's suppose to be that way. It's not really that annoying, and it's otherwise really well made.

Hobo International Camilla - Overall I like the bag, but the large metals zippers constantly clink together so it is somewhat annoying. I make a lot of noise when I walk around with it.

Perfect size and stylish too - This is the bag I've been looking for! All the other small bags are TOO small... I'm sorry, I carry more than my ATM card and a micro cell phone. But it's not so big that you look sacrifice stylishness while carrying it. The black leather is versatile enough to go with just about everything from casual wear to a club dress. I was a little leery of spending so much on a small bag, but it's been well worth it. Love it!

Great "Small" Bag - I initially purchased this bag for my daughter who was going overseas for two weeks. She decided to use a different bag, so I kept it for myself. I love the yellow color (Very spring). The size was a bit of an adjustment for someone who usually carries rather large bags. However, I always carry a tote along with my bag, now it's not necessary I just slip this bag inside. Love the compartments on the inside. I'm of average height and size (5"4" size 10) and the strap works well for me when worn crossbody.

Love this bag!!! Needed a small and stylish (but not too small) bag for travel overseas (hold cell phone, credit cards, camera and passport). This bag was perfect! In fact I am still using it now that I am home. Goes great with any wardrobe (casual or dressy). May get other colors!

The perfect travel bag... I carry a tote with me when I fly but like to have a bag like this as well for ID, credit cards, cell phone, cash, etc. Very handy that it goes across your body, nothing to hold on to, etc. Secure, too. Had another one by Hobo that was similar w/a skinny strap and someone tried to cut it off my shoulder in Las Vegas....opted for this one w/the much wider strap. Holds a lot for its size. Great for shopping, travel, etc. Their bags last forever...
