Usually any shoe hurts my feet because I have flat feet but these amazingly did not. I wore thick socks with them on a five day backpacking hike in the back country of Yosemite and they did not give me one blister. I did not even break them in before the trip. They are completely comfortable and I had a lot of compliments on how they looked. They are highly recommended.

I have had 3 pairs of these. They are comfortable, warm, and keep my feet dry during the winter time. I am now in the market for another pair, but because my feet are small (6-6.5) I can no longer find them.

I really like these boots. I got them for winter to wear in the rain & snow, so I'm slowly breaking them in. Never had Hi-Tec brand before, however they seem to be very high quality and worth the money. The size shipped to me (9.5) was perfect. Shipping was free and I got them the next day. Zappos is the only way to go...what else is there to say?!

Awesome boot! I work as a mechanic on a cement floor all day, and these are far more comfortable than any work boot I've ever worn. They are also very durable, and even slip resistant on oil/coolant soaked floors. Highly recommended.
Brands I'd also recommend: New Balance, Teva

I hike a lot so I tend to go through hiking boots rather fast. So far I've had these for over a year now of frequent rugged hiking in the Hudson Valley and Adirondacks and they are holding up exceptionally. I've learned to avoid boots with a lot of seams, as they tend to lose their waterproof integrity faster. These Hi-Tec Altitude IV boots are still as watertight as when they were new. They are great on rock or mud. A real bargain too!

First off, kudos to the facilitator of footwear and Zappos is top notch in customer service! I originally purchased my first pair of these about 1 1/2 years ago, thinking they may last a year (if that). A friend wore this brand years ago, and I gravitated towards this brand as a lower cost boot that may have some quality to it. To my surprise, the boots lasted the whole 1 1/2 years! I wore them daily, and worked five days a week in a warehouse, so the boots saw not only work, but were my everyday, all-the-time footwear. I would highly recommend these if you want a good work boot with great support that actually lasts. I replaced the footbed with Superfeet (flat feet) and the laces once. Now I purchased another pair for about more than the last. I would not rate them as high as the old Italian Vasque Sundowners, but for an everyday boot, day hikes, at a low cost (compared to a really great hiking boot), thumbs-up!

I bought these for my son for a trip to snowy NYC. He loves them. They're relatively light, comfortable and keep his feet comfortable. Much more so than Timberlands.

This is a comfortable and warm boot which has served me well through the better part of two very snowy winters in the city. It has lived up to its waterproof claims for me so far, which was a major draw for me over replacing my old Timberland's. Stomps through slushy puddles with impunity. It has been comfortable for long stretches of walking on concrete and asphalt. The only thing I don't love is that they are pretty big and chunky, but I guess some people want that in a boot, so there you go. Easy to recommend.

I like Hi-Tec Altitude IV's clean look with a minimum of stitched in panels, decorative or otherwise. The less stitching, the less to come apart! A sturdy, but very comfortable, no nonsense, hiking boot. I've worn them 5 times, hiking through dense, brambles and woods, wading streams and crossing rivers going from rock to rock. My feet stayed dry and warm and not a blister or sore spot. I've also worn them all day shopping and taking care of chores around the house and gardens. An excellent, comfortable, waterproof boot for a good price!

I wear orthopedic insoles and this is the second time I have bought this particular boot. The support is excellent and since the insole lifts my foot up, this boot accommodates it. I like to hike in thick socks, so I got it a size larger than I wear.

Overall I\'d say these boots are excellent. They give a firm yet comfortable feeling of support throughout the sole, but especially around the ankles. However, sometimes the ankle area will tug on the socks and can be uncomfortable if you have hairy ankles. As for water resistance, they hold out quite well.

My husband loves these boots, the most comfortable he has ever worn. This is the 4th pair that we have ordered, and they get worn all year round to work. He is on his feet all day, and a diabetic, so foot care is very important. These are the first boots he doesn\'t have to break in and are comfortable all day, every day. The fact that they are water proof is definitely a bonus! We are so glad to have found them. I have actually bought them as a gift for a cousin who does auto body work, and he also says the same thing and is completely sold! Thanks to Hi-Tec.\r\n

The Best Boots Ever - I am a female with a wide forefoot and a high arch, and after a bad knee and ankle injury, I needed to find a boot that is very supportive to both arch and ankle, but that can also pass for business wear (or at least, not draw attention to the fact that they are hiking boots). These fit the bill perfectly. The support is superb, and the solid black color (including the sole and the lacing hardware) means that I can wear them to the office with a dressy pantsuit, and no one is the wiser. (The one person who noticed is my boss, and he just wanted to know where he could get a pair like that!) I have worn these through puddles and in deep snow during Washington's "Snowmageddon" in February, and they did keep my feet dry in both cases. These also wear like iron, as a hiking boot should do. I have been wearing them for a minimum of 12 hours daily for six months, and they still look brand new. I'll be buying another pair soon, just to ensure that I have new ones if the current pair ever do wear out.

This is the second pair of Hi-Tecs that I've owned and just like the first, my Altitude IVs are the most comfortable hikers I've ever had. Great for rocky trails, city sidewalks or even the job site. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another pair.
