Herschel Reviews
Great-looking backpack and crazy fast delivery, but it's an awkward size and it feels too wide on my back (I am 5' 6"). The shoulder straps are itchy, as well. It's going back. Too bad.
I really love this bag. It's so convenient, durable and strong. It gives a little pop of color to my outfit and I always get compliments on it.
As a college student I absolutely love this bag! It's extremely roomy and has a safe laptop compartment to slip my 15in Macbook Pro in. I bought it in red but I love this bag so much I might get it in a low-key color. I would highly recommend this bag to anyone with a laptop computer and is style-conscious.

Overall: Comfort: Style:
The backpack was received in heavy packaging. It is very comfortable, very stylish, very roomy. However, the second day I used it, a snap cover on one of the magnets fell off. The crimped metal was broken, which was slightly distressing for a new backpack. The leather does not feel as strong as it should for the price in my opinion. The snap still works, though. Overall, it is the most comfortable backpack that I have ever owned, and arguably the best. A strange occurrence: a pack of dental floss was found in one of the pouches. I am not sure if this is a standard but it is appreciated none-the-less.
great knapsack - a ton of pockets and lots of room for all my college textbooks, laptop, charger, planner, etc as well as pens, pencils, wallet, ipod, etc. great, supportive straps that balance the weight well and don't make my back hurt after a long day of classes.
Best Fannie pack! It's comfortable and uncombersome to wear yet fits a lot of stuff. By far the best!
I love this! I needed a book bag that could protect my 13" Mac Book (it has plenty of room to spare for a larger one) and my assorted other stuff. The lime punch is a really fun color and I love the simple classic design.
Love this bag! I needed a tote that was easy-access (no flaps/buckles) and would fit my Air in its sleeve, cords and chargers, and miscellaneous stuff (daughter's sweatshirt, extra shoes, etc) and it manages to do all of that and look cute and sturdy. One interior pocket is generously-sized, great for separating out some items, the others are very small for pens etc. Handles are sturdy and long enough for my shoulder. My one complaint is that I wish the base had a little more structure - it holds its shape fine, but I can't set it down on the ground and have it stand on its own. But that's not enough for me to remove a star - it's a great tote that meets all my needs with style.
Really cute backpack, but I will be returning it. The zipper was difficult to use. It was sticking the first time I tried to unzip the bag. Great fabric and shape, though.
Bought this for a music festival and it worked perfectly. Does not feel geeky for a fanny pack, so all those haters will go home with achy shoulders from their purses or slings while you are still stylin' with your fanny pack with minimal back ache from carrying around your essentials. I can fit my wallet, phone, sunscreen and all the other things I did not want to bulk up my pockets with. Perfect for day trips or weekend trips as your primary bag. Also fits a water bottle! Definitely worth the price for what it does.
I am very happy with this purchase! The pattern is adorable, and the olive green is a really nice hue--not too bright but not too dull. The lining inside is also so cute with red and white stripes. This backpack is very sturdy, the straps are comfortable, and so far it's sustained a lot of weight without becoming too bulky. The laptop sleeve is great, too. Like some of the other reviewers, I agree that the zippers seem a little tough upon the first few uses, but they become easier to open with some time. My only critique is that the little brown tags on the zippers easily fall off! Today I lost one somewhere on campus, so now the 2 zippers look uneven (1 has the brown tag, the other doesn't). But that's really a minor concern. Overall, I really like this backpack!
This was my first time buying Herschel, and I am so happy that I did. This is a great backpack for daily use at university. It has plenty of room for books, and even a padded sleeve for your laptop.
I like the black with gold zipper which is why I bought this but it's not the greatest backpack that ever lived. 1. It smells like a sharpie marker, had to put it outside to air it off, still has a faint smell. 2. The zipper is very sticky/hard to open and close. I ran a pencil all over it to get some graphite into the teeth which helped a bit but it's still hard to pull. 3. Wish it had a 2 way zipper so it could close and open from either side. It's a minor thing but still for the price I'd think they could use a better quality, more modern zipper. I almost returned it but I just need a backpack and black and gold is my favorite.
This bag is sturdily constructed, roomy, and has a modestly off-beat look that will attract positive attention. The only negative so far is that it has a subtle chemical smell I can't get to go away, despite copious airing-outs (the label says not to machine wash it).
I got this because I'm going to Ireland this fall and I wanted a good backpack that was just the right size. This is cute and unique. I think it will work out perfectly and you can't beat Zappos shipping.
This is a fantastic bag. Easy to carry, lots of space, durable, lightweight, simple, sophisticated style and great for women or men! The leather details are plush and have a rich, pungent leather smell. The stitching is durable and almost hidden. The straps are comfortable and the large elastic pocket on the inside is more than enough space to fit my iPad! I highly recommend this bag and I can't wait to own more pieces from this up-and-coming brand.
I got this bag last September. Right off the bat, I was frustrated by the straps - the snaps are not sturdy enough and the bag would fly open unexpectedly (a problem on crowded subways and other places where you don't want your bag open). Seven months later of light use, the leather on the straps is already wearing off - the edges have cracked and the straps are getting stretched. It's a cute bag, and the capacity is nice, but I am so disappointed in the lack of durability. Coupled with the snap design issue, I can't really recommend this bag.
Great quality! Perfect for casual everyday. I like that its sleek and holds its shape well. Easy to wipe clean and doesn't show dirt. Actually sits on your shoulder!

In the early 1900s, Peter Alexander Cormack, a barrel maker by trade, and his wife Annie made the journey from Wick, Scotland, crossing the Atlantic to Canada at a time when the government was enticing families to immigrate through the homestead program. They were given land to farm to support the growth of the country, and after seemingly endless days of travel, the couple settled in the beautiful rolling hills outside of the town of Herschel, whose population today is counted at 30 residents.
