I love the color (caramel) and look of this bag. HOWEVER, there are 6 holes in the bottom of the bags. They are not tears -- they are intentional holes. I don't know what purpose they could possibly serve. I returned this item because I don't like the idea of outside elements getting into my bag.

Love this backpack. I can already tell it's going to be a keeper. It's a great carry on and fits my macbook, charger, necessary things. It's easy to ride a bike while wearing, comfortable, etc. I wish it had more pockets. Only feedback!

This is perfect for a laptop and some paperwork. No bulk, no 1,000's of pockets to lose your stuff in. Great for walk-in meetings. The straps are perfectly padded and hit right at the pressure points on the front face of your shoulder where most company's neglect. I highly recommend it.

This is a great bag. It's durable and nice looking. It's perfect for light travel. It holds my ipad and has several compartments for easy access and organization. I used it recent on a trip to NY and DC. I use it as a gym bag too.

These bags look great, but I purchased one and the zipper broke immediately with little use. The second one ripped after about 8 trips. The quality is not good. Very disappointed with Herschel and the price vs. quality. Will not purchase any products from them again.

Absolutely loved the backpack until the plastic zipper came apart and I was not able to utilize the double direction zipper anymore. Zipper wasn't stitched well into the fabric at the ends.

The backpack is stylish, comfortable, and large enough to carry a full day trips worth of materials, however the manufacturing is terrible. Over the first six months of use, two of the magnetic buttons fell off, the grommet from the drawstring ripped out of the liner, and the clasp on the drawstring broke. For those planning to use the bag daily, I highly recommend looking elsewhere -- it is simply not up to the rigors of urban living. With that said, those who plan to use it more sparingly may find it still meets their needs. On a positive note, it is one of the most comfortable backpacks I've ever owned -- the back padding and padded shoulder straps were well cushioned.

Broke within the first use. The metal finishing where the drawstring meets the bag came undone. The magnetic claps were already showing wear, and speaking of which, are pretty difficult to quickly get in and out of the bag. Functionality-wise this bag just wasn't right for me. I wanted to use casual day travel, but it was too big for what I need. I'm female standing at 5'2" and I feel like I'm going to drown in this bag. I've gotten some compliments though. So it passes in the looks department.

I love this backpack! I walk to work every day and I was looking for something functional and stylish, and this fits the bill. I have a small frame (5'2", 105lbs) and this bag fits great. I have plenty of room for gym clothes, lunch, and room to spare. The zipper isn't the most smooth, but still functional.

I needed a backpack that would be big enough for me to carry big books, notebooks, pens, pencils, and clothes to change into. This bag is HUGE and half the size of me, but it feels strangely lightweight. My only gripe is that it doesnt have a lot of pockets and is a bit TOO big so I can't grab things easily right away (I have to set the backpack down, open up the top, reach in & dig around, etc). I got complimented on it the first day I wore it, so it looks cute without looking totally nerdy. A good option for school!

Love this bag. Bought it for 3-5 day trips and it is the perfect size. Durable fabric, color true to picture. My only complaint would be like the other reviewers, the clasps that attach the long strap to the bag definitely squeak when you walk. If you can get over that (which I have chosen to), then it's a fantastic bag.

The fabric on the inside makes it easy to slide cards in and out. I tried another Herschel wallet (the Roy) that didn't have the same fabric on the inside so the cards weren't as easy to remove from the slots. I recommend the shinier fabric interior of the Edward wallet!

I have had this backpack for a few weeks now and I LOVE it. It is stylish but also functional. It holds more than I had anticipated and it feels well made. I wish it had one more outside pocket (with some kind of snap) but I am willing to deal with that annoying detail because I like the sleek look of this bag so much.

I like it. I spent almost two weeks in Europe with this on my back. I wish there were more pockets, and the straps can become irritating when you want to close it fast. Alternatively, no zippers is not bad. It is comfortably padded. It will not hurt your back. It is small enough to fit under your seat on an airplane, it is pretty light for its size, and looks nondescript.

This is a great nubuck leather wallet that has already received multiple compliments. If you are looking for a wallet that will gently distress over time and fits well in your front pocket, then this is for you. The striped liner is very unique, and looks great. I'd highly recommend this wallet for its stylish looks and the full grain leather construction.

There are so many things I love about this bag. It feels lightweight but sturdy, the straps are padded nicely, the interior of the bag is large but it still looks sleek, the laptop sleeve is so soft I want to take a nap in it. I would highly recommend this bag to a friend with only two little complaints: 1) There is not real outside pocket (which I knew before ordering) and 2) I wish there were more pockets inside. Nothing that is a deal breaker though!

Only buy this bag if you like wearing over your right shoulder with the bag more vertically oriented along your body, because this bag is only designed to be worn that one way. Because of the proportion and placement of the strap, buckle, and sleeve, this bag is can only be worn over the right shoulder . Ridiculous this is not disclosed, given that this is a much less common way to wear a messenger bag. The padded sleeve cannot slide over the plastic buckle, so the sleeve is highly limited in how much it can be adjusted. Returning mine.

I purchased this bag from Zappos two years ago and have been wearing it every day at school since then. I got it in black and the canvas is very good quality, I've had no frays or tears whatsoever and that is with it frequently sitting on the floor while in class. While the canvas is great, the poly inside, though fab with the candy cane stripes, has some fraying going on. The fraying isn't too bad though and is kind of expected with spiral notebooks, folders, etc. being removed and returned all day long. The inside is also very stain resistant, I've had coffee leak a few times and there is little sign of the spills. The faux leather straps are cracking at this point, but they stayed in tact for many months. The additional pocket in front is very handy for small items. If you have a ton of stuff to carry around this is not for you. The magnets just are not made for the packrat person and will come undone while walking. Moral of the story is that I will buy this bag again when my current one finally gets too beat up.

Well made, conservatively styled bag. Quality materials. The only thing I would change is that the zippers are protected by a flap that gets in the way of my less than nimble fingers, so I can't access compartments as quickly as I'd like. I think the intent is to keep moisture and particles off the zipper tracks, so I get it, just don't like it, though it does give the bag a sharper look, in that you don't see the zippers.

Right off the bat, I do have to say that this item is very pricey for what it is: basically just a large tote. But Herschel is not a cheap brand and we decided to splurge for two reasons: first, the quality does seem very good, solid seams, strong material. Second, not only is the design very attractive, but also the tote is part of a line that includes a conventional backpack and several very light foldable backpacks that are perfect for travel or in our case, for weekend guests/relatives who didn't bring their own backpack but want to go hiking with us. Some of the designs are more girly (like the Hawaiian flower print above) while others just use the blue or the camouflage, but still they all obviously go together and it's fun to have everyone match: like a family reunion or a tour group. So if any of those needs match yours, yes, I would recommend these items.
