A lot of fun, but painful in the beginning - I must say this shoe makes walking a lot of fun. I have three boys and they got Heelys for their BD. I couldn't stand not having fun as much as they were having. I am 34 years old and was a bit skeptic about getting some for myself. I am so glad I did! All of us go to Sam's together and we have a blast shopping! It took me about two days to get the hang of it, but after that it becomes natural. The only negative thing is since you have to lift both front of you feet to skate, you are working a muscle on the outside of your feet that you've probably never worked before. The pain is unbearable; you just got to keep on wearing them and make those muscles stronger. Other than that, a great way to have fun and move along!

All Heelys - Well, I have Heelys, but its time to get new school shoes. I’m interested in Heelys for my shoes again. I need grind plates because I do 12 foot vert and I can do frontflips, 360s, 180s, 540s, and many other tricks. I’ve considered the pro Heelys team, but I need to learn to grind so I can try out. I gave 3 star comfort because I have tendonitis in my right foot and with Heelys I get very sharp pain in my heels now, but it went away when I got gel packs for my heels and now its fine. So a suggestion is to get gel packs for your heels and comfort rating is 5.

Can't wait to Heely - Just want to let you know how excited my son was when he got his Heelys Torch the next day. He already has a pair of Heelys but he outgrew them. So when he saw this pair he had to have it. And he even bought it with his own money that he works hard for. Mind you he is only 7 years old. Love your site!!!

Nice. I use these to enhance the speed and enjoyment of my commute through the big city. They take a while to get used to because you have to stay on the heels of both feet in order to skate along. I started out mostly walking, and only rolling when I felt good about it. Once you learn where the balance points are (and remember that the wheels are there), it's pretty easy to transition from walking to rolling easily and safely. They're a lot of fun. It's sort of like a low level flying. I find that when I'm wearing other shoes, I keep wanting to push off and wheel along but am instead grounded. As far as fitting sizes, these were a gift and they are about a size and half too big but fit fine, and I have no problems with them. Interestingly enough however, I have had friends try them out successfully whose sizes range from 6 sizes smaller than the shoe to a size larger. Make what you want from that. I do find that they were NOT made for walking. When I spend the majority of the day walking and not heeling, the balls of my feet start to hurt. This isn't internal pain or cramps or anything, just the pain of too much friction between my foot and the shoe. It may very well be a factor of wearing slightly older socks and the shoes technically being a little too big so that there's room for my foot to move around inside it. Hope some of this is helpful. Wayne

Glad I bought them...THE BEST FIRST EXPERIENCE!!! I'm 33, and considered a big kid anyway. But, my girls who have been Heeling for a bit asked me to buy some so we could cruise around Wal-Mart together. So, I did, fell on day one, but am fast as ever now. The shoe, itself, is very appealing to the eye and goes well with all casual wear. I keep the wheels in most of the time, and don't have many comfort issues, but when with the heel plugs in, they are a great everyday wear shoe. The grind plate is a nice touch, haven't quite gotten the hang of it yet, but, soon will. The skate park near our house was a great place to really test them out a bit...smooth and fast! Will be buying other styles to fit my personal decor! Skate on!!!!!

Happy and 9 years old - I have to be honest... Our son was so excited when he got his first pair of Heelys that when he did his first test run, he put them back in the box and said we may want to return them to Santa... Suffice it to say after 1 month he decided to give a go again. He took the time to read the directions and has been the happiest 9yr old boy. He takes care of the wheels religiously and wears them with ease.

I ordered the Heelys Torch on a Saturday afternoon for my 9 yr old son. With the free overnight shipping, we were expecting to receive them on Tuesday. To our surprise, the shoes were sitting at our door Monday afternoon! My son LOVES these. Within hours of practicing, he was "heelying" fine! The wide wheels are great for beginners as they are more stable. He hasn't tried "grinding" yet, but loves showing off the grinding plates to his friends! I ordered one size up and they fit great.

I'm 38 and wearing the Torch - After seeing kids gliding around various public places on these shoes, I thought it looked like fun so I wanted to give it a try. And it is fun. I'm in my late 30's and enjoy cruising around on these shoes. I needed a new pair of shoes anyway. I wear a 9.5 and I bought a size 10 which do fit me well. I was pleased to find out that the shoes are actually well made and comfortable. I wear them everyday to work but not usually with the wheels in them. The wheels pop in and out easily. Walking with the wheels in them is not the best, feels like I'm wearing rolling heels. Overall a good shoe and I think it was worth the money.

Great shoes - These shoes are very fun but mind you Heelying is very difficult but once you get the hang of it its really fun. These are really cool because they are also a pair of soap shoes which you can grind with. Plus if you can’t afford a pair of expensive freestyle rollerblades, they’re great for the skate park plus there just a good pastime and a great hobby.

Heeling is difficult - I recently bought these shoes, and let me tell you Heeling is difficult. These kids make Heeling look so easy, but its not. You have to balance all your weight on a tiny wheel (Mega are the biggest wheels you can get), this is really uncomfortable. Also the wheel is soo big that you can do a soft break--which is slowing down using your heels. The only good thing about this shoe is that it doubles as a Soap shoe--it has a grind plate. I have never grinded in my life, but it looked cool so I got them. In the picture it looks like a normal sneaker, but in reality they are a little fatter. I must say this though, the shoe is quality. The reason I gave it 3 stars for comfort is because the heel feels weird with and without the wheel, and these shoes are definitely not for running as they are heavy. I think I will stick with my old sneakers for that. My advice, know that you really can Heel before investing in these.

BUY THESE SHOES - They are great. My mom thought they were too expensive but we both now think they are perfect. They are easy to use better than my previous pair and I recommend them to beginners. But remember they are worth the money, they are a lot more stable than the rest of Heelys shoes but you can't feel the wheel at all under your foot!!! Buy them.

Happy with my Heelys - Very good looking shoes and very comfortable. Heelys usually run a bit small, so buy one size larger than usual. Fat wheels help with balance.
