You do not need a half size larger - Based on the reviews here, I ordered a half size larger than I normally wear. When I tried them on, they fit like clown shoes! I returned them and ordered my normal size 9. They fit just fine, (actually there's still a little wiggle room in the toes). They are tight in the upper part (the ankle support area and up) but that's the point of motorcycle boots. You want them to be tight so if you're ever in an accident they don't slip right off your feet. After you wear them once and break them in, they are very comfortable! I find the heel catches on my bike's foot pegs way too easily, but I'll learn to get used to that. I don't think the construction looks all that great. The style looks nice, but if you look closely, you can see the quality is not there. Mine showed up with loose threads, uneven stitching, and the zippers stick. I considered doing an exchange to see if a different pair looked better, but the 9.5 and the 9 that I ordered both had the same poor quality. In the end I decided to keep them regardless of the poor quality. They are better than the motorcycle boots I already had, and they do look nice enough to wear to work with khakis. I like that I can ride to work, and I don't have to bring an extra pair of shoes to change into once I get there.
