About Han Cholo

Han Cholo HAN CHOLO
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Han Cholo designer, Brandon Schoolhouse grew up immersed in the subculture of Hollywood’s music and art scene. In high school, Brandon took classes for metal works and always had a knack for making jewelry. After graduating from high school, Brandon decided to pursue music. In 1994, he started the band “Buff Muffin”, of which Brandon was the lead singer.

In 1995, Brandon was hired to work for the Grand Royal record label. He then learned how to DJ, and thus, Brandon’s alter ego, Han Cholo, was born. After several years, Brandon parted ways with Grand Royal and made his name spinning at LA’s hottest night spots and the most exclusive parties. During the day, Brandon worked as a wardrobe stylist, where he styled several music videos, fashion editorials, print ads and album covers. At the same time, Brandon was utilizing his drawing skills and would design jewelry that he used to accessorize many of his rock star clients.

Han Cholo jewelry was born in 2002, when a few of his rock star clients convinced Brandon to go forward with developing his own line of jewelry. He met and partnered with long-time silversmith, Guillaume Pajolec who also designed for other renowned jewelry brands.

As Han Cholo jewelry is so greatly influenced by rock n’ roll, science fiction, fantasy art, and hip hop culture, the line has become the “it” accessory among young Hollywood fashionistas and celebrities alike. Han Cholo designs are bold, edgy, and steeped in pop culture influences that resonate with a young, fashion-forward generation.
