This is an awesome bag - big enough to carry a ton of stuff, and small enough that it's not going to weigh me down or look bulky. Love all the little compartments to organize everything!
I have been looking for a cross-body for a while. Returned quite a few that I ordered from Zappos, so much so I have this conviction I've been black-listed by them. However, this one is at long last, a keeper! The strongest point for me is that it is made from recycled materials (plastic bottles - how nice!). Also, I'm petite, only 5 ft and 100 lbs, and this bag is not too big, nor too small. Other strengths include: 1) The many compartments - essential for a organization freak like me. 2) It is pretty and happy (I got it in the tangerine color). 3) Most compartments are deep enough or has a zipper - crucial for a paranoid like me who always think some pick-pocket is out there and I'm the target. 4) It can hold quite a lot (my 18 oz water bottle, 3-fold wallet, cosmetic pouch, cell phone, passports for myself and kids and more). 5) It cannot hold too many things - great for someone like me who must downsize and simplify. 6) Most important of all - since this poor bag has been wrongly maligned - it does not squeak. I'm sure the reviews that say it does were reviews for the "Grab Bag 2" where there are 2 metal rings clasped together to hold the strap to the bag. This is Jaunt 2. No squeaking. Weaknesses: 1) Strap is too thin so it weighs down a bit on the shoulders. 2) The buckle presses against my collar bone if I strap it across my right shoulder (only for me, because of my height and the length I chose). I forgot to mention that I was down to either this bag or a Timbuk2 (which my husband insisted upon). I chose this because it looks prettier and has more organizational potential.
It is not gray like the picture. It is closer to an olive green. Other than the color I love this tote.
This little backpack is beautiful! Not sure if it's sturdy enough for school use (books, laptop, etc) but it's perfect for use as a purse/toddler bag. Backpacks are the best when wrangling a toddler and most are ugly...very happy to have this one.
Love this wallet. Perfectly designed/organized for a no-nonsense, busy mom. Love it in my bag or carrying it alone - just throw my iPhone inside. Have owned for at least six months - seems very durable, wipes clean. Will enjoy it for years to come. As always, Zappos is fantastic - best customer service out there!
An awesome bag! Can be used as a sleeve without the strap and also makes a great sling bag. I am a meeting planner and was forever setting down my iPad and misplacing it in meeting rooms. This bag kept my iPad, iPhone, pen and supplies at my finger tips. And it looks great too. Lots of compliments!
I didn’t know exactly what shade of blue Majolica Blue was but since I filtered out all colors except for navy in my search, that’s what I expected when it arrived. Not true – it’s more of a peacock which complements the flower stitching and handles on the bag which is an iridescent olive. In fact, look at the seat belt in your car. Mine has got that same iridescent/shiny quality I’m trying to describe. Anyway, it sounds like an odd combo but since the handles/stitching are reflective it really brightens up the olive. The bag is lined but it appears there might be some additional material between the inner and outer fabric which gives it a nice substantial look and keeps it from collapsing in on itself when not full. Almost like one of the insulated canvas lunch bags everyone carries now. I’ve only had the bag for one day and haven’t experienced any of the squeaky noises from the handle hardware that I’ve read about with other Haiku bags but even if I did, I like it so much it wouldn’t be a deal breaker. My major complaint is about the dimensions of the straps. They are only an inch wide which is fine but when you lay one down flat, it is very thin. I think if I were to load up my bag so it were heavy and try to carry it on my shoulder that it would cut into me; it’s so thin the edges would be sharp if that makes sense. I would prefer something that when laid down had the thickness of a seat belt, or more. The snap that keeps the bag closed is also kind of hard to snap and unsnap. I’m thinking it will loosen up some after use but it may just be my particular bag… I am very happy with my bag and only foresee a return if something goes awry with the snap.
I ordered this bag in April 2012 and by September, I contacted Haiku about the bag falling apart. The shorter straps were falling apart - the leather part. Haiku was very nice about it and actually replaced the bag. Now, 7 months later my bag is falling apart again. The leather straps (shorter ones) are ripping apart. The leather part on the bottom has rips and holes. I hardly carry the bag - because I work from home and might take the bag on two trips outside of my house each week. I have been extremely careful with the replaced bag - because I did not want to damage the straps on the new bag. I love the look and styling of the bag, but it sucks to spend this much on a bag only to have it fall apart.
Perfectly sized... checkbook, cards, phone, and plenty of room for change. Love the color! Zippers are sturdy! And of course. Zappos service is 5 stars as always!
This raspberry bag is beautiful. Not as bright as the picture but very pretty. It's big for a purse but I'm using it for that while on vacation, along with a small carry-on I'll be set! I like the recycle factor and this bag has some great features! Highly recommend it! I'm taking a hip pack for museums, etc. but this bag is definitely going to FL!
I love this little gem! It holds everything I need and I can wear it cross body or with it's smaller handle for a fun little purse. Great for touring, shopping etc.
This bag is so well made and very beautiful. My iPad fits perfectly in the bag with a back pocket for extra items. The cross body design fits my body well and creates a weight-less feel of the bag. If I carry an extra bag or purse over the sleeve, it feels like there is nothing there. The sleeve also fits nicely into my backpack. This is my third purchase from Haiku and all my products are beautiful and dependable. Haiku is a great company that stands firmly behind their products.
The strap slips off my shoulder. Also strap gets twisted and slis in length. Trying to find another strap to use.
I adore this purse. I am really, really picky about purses. My idea of the perfect purse has to have a wipeable bottom (because sometimes I have to set it down in all sorts of icky places, ewwww) and convert between shoulder and cross-body carrying modes. I like to look stylish, unless I have to carry a kid in which case I need to sling it, unattractive as that may be. This bag comes as close as I've gotten in awhile, with added bonus of being made of recycled materials! Has enough pockets, plus the vertical zip pockets are good for stashing the longer strap when I don't need it. It's very light, and I think the black fabric with green interior looks pretty hip for not being leather.
Love! LOVE! LOVE! this handbag! Just enough pockets for everything! Yes, the strap is a bit "slippery" on the shoulders but for a crossbody, it is perfect!
I use this bag only as a shoulder handbag and really like it. I detached the handlebar straps completely. Like most Haiku gear it looks brand new even with heavy use and is easy to clean. I especially love the bright interior. I have the grey/green color and while I thought it was too green at first I have received a ton of compliments. The wide open top makes it easy to drop items in and it seems tot fit A LOT for a medium sized bag. There is a secured zipper compartment in the middle, but I do wish the entire top could be closed with a zipper because when the bag falls off a chair everything from the other compartments falls out. I also would appreciate more organizational pockets, especially one for a phone.
This bag is almost perfect and is by far the best bag I've found. Pros: Doesn't look big, but is very roomy Good-sized main compartment with a zipper closure pockets! One exterior slip pocket, two exterior zippered pockets, one exterior magnetic flap pocket, and two interior pockets (one zippered). Can put an iPad in the main compartment and still have room for other things. Adjustable strap can be made long enough to be a cross-body bag. Stands up on its own. Pretty color (I got raspberry) and the decoration is embroidered on. Cons: Squeaky strap -- however, rubbing a Bounce dryer sheet on the metal rings completely eliminated the squeak. Strap is a bit unattractive -- sort of looks like a seat belt. One interior pocket has a velcro closure. I wish it had a magnetic closure or none at all.
Cute purse. Disappointed in the color. Online it looks like a lovely grape/purple color. When I got it, it's actually a navy with dark gold trim. I'm a bit disappointed. It's also a tad smaller than I thought it would be, even though I checked the measurements before I bought. Lots of pocket space and a cute design. Still trying to decide if I'm going to keep it. I had a haiku purse previously and loved it.
The back compartment fits my 13" MBP easily, and my 15" pretty tightly. Its padded and well protected. It looks like the front has an opening where you can stick your jacket or umbrella if you don't want to carry it in your hands, nice feature but I haven't used it myself. Both of the main compartments are large and accommodating, though personally I'd like to see more zippered pockets. Generally this bag is too big for what I need it for (every day laptop bag + purse stuff) but I bought it thinking that it would be perfect for a traveling laptop bag. So far my only complaint about this bag is that I wish they had it in a light grey color. Otherwise I think its great.
The color is more of an olive than grey, but I think it looks better in olive with the yellow interior. Seems very durable. Lightweight considering the size. Glad it has deep pockets as the snap closure for extra security is hard to use and a little awkward. I'm pleased with it overall.
I love the styling of this bag and it's very cute. I wanted a roomy bag that wasn't too big, which this is, but the zipper opening is narrower than the rest of the bag, making it difficult to get to the deep bottom of the bag. Also, I agree with the reviewer about the top zipper being difficult to close if you unzip it all the way (which you need to do since the opening is so narrow). When you unzip the top fully, you have to dig out the end of the zipper to get a grip on the end and hold it down to rezip it.
