Habitat Reviews
Only complaint was that it was seemed a bit large for it's size. I wear a size 12 in Vans and this shoe was too big as a 12.
Nice looking shoe, but it must run a little narrow from instep to ball of foot because even with half size up ordered, my son felt it was snug.
The shoes are nice. They look good and would have been keepers. Except the manufacturing of the shoes was rather shoddy. They are definitely not worth this price for the condition they were in. One had a major sewing problem with its tongue, and the other felt like it had a bubble right in the middle of the front of my foot. It was probably a bad set and I will try to get these shoes again and write a fuller report than just my preliminary review.
I like Habitat's implementation of the colors and material with this shoe. The brown and tan canvas go well with the hints of red and the white base. I like the versatility of the hi or low option. I love their attention to detail with this shoe. The little things like the tag on the side, the stitching on the heel and the design on the insole and out-sole really separates this shoe from myriad similar shoes you may see out there. Great shoes, and pretty comfortable too in my opinion.
Very uncomfortable. Mostly because the tongues of the shoes keeps slipping to the side and I'm constantly needing to pull them up straight. This happens no matter how tight I tie the laces (and I don't like keeping my laces tight in the first place). No arch support (but that wasn't a problem for me with my flat feet).
These are good looking shoes...compact with a nice shape. They are, however, narrow in the toe area. It took about a week of squished toes to wear them in. It also took bit to get used to skating in them as I'm used to rounder/thicker shoes. But I've been very happy with Habitat shoes thus far with how they look and skate. The last pair I had were cupsole and they were great...good board feel and durability. These are vulcanized so we'll see how long they last. I would suggest getting a size up to save your toes some uncomfort, unless you have narrow feet.
Was skeptical about buying a skateboard company shoe but these shoes are good. I mean good. Really good. They look really sharp and I did not have any problems breaking these bad Larry's in buying another pair ASAP.
Ideal skate shoes for me, but not really worth it as they rip pretty fast. Zappos is great as usual.. Free shipping both ways and what not. I did order an 8.5 and the box said 8.5 but the shoes were size 8. It didn't turn out to be a problem so i guess they run a little big. They look sick and they're thin and stylish. Get em!
Had 6 pairs of these, the best shoe I've ever skated. They last, the grip is insane. The sidewall wears down after a lot of flicking but the grip lasts. Buy this.
I bought a pair of these almost 2 years ago at a local skate and board shop and I'm just now replacing them. They have a suede vibe which I assumed would start looking ratty pretty quickly, but my old ones still look decent and the sole is just starting to get too worn to ignore. I usually wear out a pair of sneakers in about 6 months.
Look cool, seem well constructed. About half size too small. Is a simple, sort of old school feel to them which for me means that it doesn't have the cushy insole. Instead they are a bit harder but are good if you are looking to have more feel. The red color is a bit brighter than pictured. Because the size was too small I am returning them and trying something different; had they fit I probably would have kept them.
These shoes look great and are comfortable, but my pair fell apart after three weeks. The sides separated from the entire shoe on both pairs, disappointing. However, Zappos’ fantastic customer services made things right! So, five stars for Zappos, one star for the Habitat Lark.
Not satisfied. The rubber around the base of the shoe was poorly attached. Without using them for any kind of sport of heavy activity I wore through them in 2 months.
Shoe is very stylish. I love it! The only complaint is it is very narrow. Aside from that a great shoe.
Really cool shoe, with a few small cons. It says on the shoes that the fabric is not washable and will fade out in color due to perspiration, rubbing or scratching...which worries me. It seems like they need to be worn in a little. Otherwise great shoe.
These shoes are very stylish. I have received many positive comments on their look, but beware; these shoes are not meant for walking around steep areas. I live in a place where there are lots of hills and the first days I wore the shoes were painful until I broke them in. These shoes are made for skating, they have extra cushy insole. They run true to size, but the colors are a bit lighter than the ones displayed online. Cool shoes!
