Waterproof? I bought these specifically to keep my feet dry. When they came they said re-apply silicone based waterproofing as needed. Well, the 2nd time I wore 'em my feet got wet. So I'm spraying them constantly, like a non "waterproof" boot.

Excellent - Great low hiking boot. They are definitely waterproof and protect your feet very well in a variety of terrain. While I don't think they are insulated, they were warmer than your average shoe for winter wear. Sure they're not the most attractive shoes you could own, but who cares.

Price is right - First pair lasted 3 weeks before one of the top gussets broke. Of course, Zappos replaced with no hassle. Good/Bad news: Wanted to use them as winter boot and summer hiking footwear, but they are warm enough to make 'stinky feet' in cold so I am assuming they will be too warm for summer hiking. Not the prettiest footwear, but price is certainly right.

I Returned Them - They have a somewhat pointed toe that I found to be uncomfortable. Even when fully laced they always felt as if they were falling off.

The Mesh Hiker is a great all-around shoe - I bought the Golden Retriever Mesh Hiker as a yard-work shoe, and it's been great for that. I also find that I wear it for Saturday errands and other casual trips. It goes on and off easily because the last two eyelets are open hooks. It feels fun to wear it!
