Gola Reviews
I have owned these shoes in beige for about two months so far. These are constructed with a cloth/canvas material similar to Converse but it is softer and more pliable. This gives the shoes a sort of slipper like comfort. What you see is what you get with these shoes, simple comfortable cloth shoes alternative to Converse/Vans, there is really nothing more to say. Unfortunately the comfort comes at the cost of utility, these shoes are meant for normal/light day to day use. I have read some reviews that these shoes fell apart after regular use within a few months but I personally cannot vouch for that. I work often and have multiple pairs of shoes to wear when off the clock so these Golas get occasional use.
I've returned these twice because the fit was too large. I order an 8 and a 7 both were too large. I am normally a size 7.5/8. In other Golas, I fit into a size 8. There is no option for a size 6 here. :^( So, now, I cannot order these.
Great, simple and stylish sneakers, these Gola Quota kicks. I own and wear several pair and they go great with just about any jean with a straight leg. It's a narrow shoe and feels a wee bit smaller then true at the toe box, but imo order your true size and they will either fit well out of the box or break in well. Order a half size down for a truly snug but comfy fit. This is a slim profile, stylishly causal sneaker. The sole is "barely there" but adequate, and they are comfortable to walk in or spend a day out and about. Lot's of colors and a few styles to choose from in the Quota, IMO you can't go wrong here in a quality, good looking sneaker.
These are adorable. Unfortunately the fit is a bit off. Because of the macrame/crochet type fabric, the back of the heel is very floppy. It might help to go down half a size. The look of the shoe, though, is adorable.
I have owned 5 pairs of these... they are by far the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned, they fit my feet perfectly and styling is great! My only concern is that I am having a hard time finding the same style/size in stores and online.
I tried and tried to like these. I really did. Every time I put them on, I ended up taking them off. They are so narrow. Going up a size does not help because they only get longer. Overall they could have been an awesome shoe, if only they were slightly wider in the toe area. Instead I wear the Dainty Ox from Converse and am in love with those.
Got navy/burgundy Gola Quota. Looks support chic dress-down outfits with ease. Not to be worn without enhanced ortho insert as it lacks arch support and heel cushion. Monochromatic outfit with a second color reference. I like all navy and a touch of burgundy; gets me noticed.
These have become my go to spring and summer shoes. They go great with jeans or shorts. I originally found them when I was searching for an alternative to Vans or Converse and have become a big fan. If you looking for a low top casual sneaker that isn't the same as everyone else, these are a good way to go. I have received many compliments on them. I've worn out two pairs so far and am ordering my third.
Love these shoes! This is the 3rd pair of Quota I have owned. The first lasted about 9 months before semi-blowing out at seam on the heel/sole. I am super-flat footed and probably don't help them last by the way I walk. BUT, the second pair I bought only lasted a week before the seam started to separate at the heel/sole. So maybe it's the shoe? Thank god for Zappos VIP status...they sent me a replacement pair a day later (technically, my 3rd pair) and these are holding up as expected. Not tons of support, not tons of padding, but overall they are snugly-comfortable to my wide feet. LOVE THEM.
I really like this shoes, very comfortable and stylish. I am 10 1/2, so bought an 11 since there are no half sizes. It was too large. I changed it for a 10, which was finally the right size. If you are between sizes, go for the smaller one!
I just received my order...and yes, they fit snug on the width. I have worn them about an hour and they do 'break in' very quickly and are very comfortable. Like a slipper is a good way to describe them. I did notice that the video shows them with, what seems to be, much more flexible soles. The soles seem thicker and are a different color than the video. They may be sturdier than some have reported. They are the most comfortable sneaker I have ever worn.
I have never heard of this brand, but the colorful shoes caught my eye. I am a Converse girl (often even design my own on their site) and wanted a "girly-er" pair of cute tennis shoes. (Normally I am not a pink/purple girl, but I am trying to expand my color palette.) They are very lightweight shoes (lighter than my Cons) and they do come with a "traditional" pair of laces in case you want to switch from the ribbon laces. I look forward to warmer temps to wear these.
These shoes almost completely fell apart in about 3-4 casual days of wear. The heel has separated from the sole entirely. These shoes are poorly made garbage... Really not what I expected for pricey shoes.
I ordered true to size regardless of reviews (I'm a size 9, ordered a 9) and it was a perfect fit. Even managed to fit a cushy insole inside (they could stand to have some extra padding). Toe box didn't feel too small. Ordered the bright "reflex" blue shoes and I love love them. They have a very relaxed vibe, almost like vans or skate shoes, that I like a lot. I'm thinking about ordering the grey...
I bought my first pair of Gola shoes about 10 years ago on a trip to Provincetown. I fell in love with the style, the leather material and the comfort. A year into wearing them I noticed that the leather on one of the shoes was tearing. Not wanting to over use them and make them last, I bought myself another pair. Loved them! One year later these shoes had a hole in the front of the shoe. This time the hole got so big that I could not use them again. Last year I bought another pair of Gola. I wanted the original leather shoes but unfortunately they are no longer available. I went for Gola Chase. This time 6 months later one of the shoes had a hole on the right side. I really love their style but I am extremely disappointed at the quality of their materials. I do not abuse my shoes in any way. I have never had this problem with any other brand. I have always had Addidas shoes and the Golas had become my favorite shoes. This past Christmas I wanted new shoes but decided to stick to Addidas instead.
I bought these knowing that they were minimalist shoes and were to be used almost entirely in martial arts. I have had them for about two months now and have busted the suede on the outside of the shoe where it meets the sole. They are not sturdy enough to handle the rigor of an exercise where you will exert pressure against the floor at all angles. The suede has loosened up considerably with use, and now my foot slides around inside with ease.
I love these shoes. My only issue is that the white graphics on the sides wears off really quickly. Other than that, they are excellent. I love the style. Sitting here, I'm thinking about ordering a new pair just like my old ones. Just wish the graphics were made of tougher stuff! Maybe my feet are just too clumsy!
Great shoe. Classic styling. These shoes made me feel cool when I wore them. But...I wore them for 2 months and they literally fell apart. I'm not talking "oh, those look a little beat up"...I'm talking split soles, holes in soles from wear spots, etc. Pretty disappointed considering how cool they look and fit.
So far so good! I haven't had these long enough to attest to how well they will hold up with heavy wear. I imagine this summer I'm going to be wearing this way more often. But I really like the way these look. A very tidy sneaker, works with jeans or chinos. Comfortable for my flat feet; not sure about people with actual arches! Great less-known alternative to Converse.
