Product Information:

  • Video Description View the Video Description for this product! (Please note that the color shown in the video may no longer be available.)
  • No pow? No problem. Get dirty with this Gnu™ snowboard that can slay the hardpack, park, rails, cat tracks, ice, crud, and everything else that isn't pow.
  • Features the photograhpy of Tim Zimmerman.
  • Banana Tech is an all terrain rocker that places the control specifically between your feet where it belongs. The full tip-to-tail edge contact makes every ride incredibly easy from hitting the hard pack to gliding on fresh powder.
  • The Magne-Traction board has seven contact points, compared to conventional skis and snowboards that only have two. Control comes from under your feet, giving you better edge hold, and if your two outside contact points lose grip, you've still got five more to take over. The serrated edges give better hold on icy pipes and turn ice into powder.
  • The ultra-lightweight rugged "polymer bumper" has sandwich construction on the tip and tails. Steel edges are used for control along the contact area and are tucked in just past the contacts.
  • True Twin Shape has equal length and equal width for both tip and tails combined with a centered radial sidecut. This shape offers the ability to ride equally well in both directions with a focus on freestyle. Perfect for park, powder, and pipe.
  • Sintered 9900 alloy base has a continuous compression formed for molecular elongation, preserving its amorphous polymer structure, for maximum wax absorption and durability.
  • Quasi-Glass is a four-way fiber orientation 0/45/45/90. Tri-Axial and Bi-Axial glass combo offers max pop and control.
  • Tough EISS 9 UHMW sidewalls on the exterior are laminated to 9 layers of endgrain birch on the inside and offer ultra-light spin weight. Performance is great both on and off the snow.
  • AG1 Sustainable Woodcore is lighter and stronger than traditional cores, offering up a perfect combination of aspen wood to create a lightweight, poppy board that Gnu dubs nature's fiberglass.
  • Measurements:
    Waist Width: 26.3".
    Ref Stance Width: 20.25" - 25"/0".
    Sidecut Radius: 8.65".
    Contact Length: 117 cm.
  • Weight Range: 140-260 lbs.
  • Flex Rating: 6.5/10.

"We Build Our Own Damn Boards" isn't just a slogan for Gnu® snowboards; it's a way of life. Based out of Carlsborg, Washington, snowboarders at Gnu have been carefully hand building high performance snowboards for the past twenty-five years. The nearby Olympic and Cascade Mountain Ranges gives them ample opportunity to try out their latest innovations.

Manufactured by Mervin Manufacturing, which is the longest running and last major snowboard factory in the USA, Gnu® snowboards continue to keep its pulse close to the snowboarding community. And since Mervin is managed and staffed by snowboarders, the company continues to innovate and experiment with new ideas to make the rider experience better and better.

Mervin’s "build, ride, refine" philosophy has created many important developments in snowboard evolution. The use of sidecuts to create edgehold and turning ability were first introduced by snowboard pioneer Mike Olson. The latest technology has been the creation of the Magne-Traction that makes snowboards easier to ride and improves overall performance. Their Banana technology continues to create better rocker control, tip-to-tail contact and improved gripping so the snowboarder controls the ice and not the other way around.

Mervin Manufacturing also strides to be an environmentally-sound company by working with water-based solvents and renewable fast-growing forest products. Wood dust is even recycled and scrap wood is sold for kindling. Mervin Manufacturing continues to move forward to be the leading snowboard company with a clean environmental conscience.
