Peter and Stephen Hill founded Hardcore in 1984 and rapidly expanded it to become one of the world’s largest skateboard distribution companies. At the time, the Hills were professional skateboarders who were dissatisfied with the quality of skate and snow products available in Australia, so they went into business to import the best from the USA.
Through constant film productions, promotions, tours, contests, video and magazine advertising, Hardcore became the driving force behind the skateboarding explosion during the mid 80’s in Australia.
In 1994, along with brother and current GLOBE CEO Matt Hill the GLOBE brand was created. After 10 years of design, production and distribution with Hardcore it was time to create a global brand. First with shoes for skaters and surfers, and then with apparel and hardgoods for the broader boardsports market.
Fast forward to today and the same crew of skaters, surfers and snowboarders that started the business back in the 80’s has grown to a global network of counter culture artisans that are united by board sports, street fashion, media, design, and film.

Globe Pulse is a great shoe by itself but add the Jason Ellis brand which brings the carbon fiber look to it and you have a shoe that's awesome enough to wear in awesome world. Red dragons!

Usually I go for the DVS Volaris but I decided to try another brand just to change things up. I first got these shoes in a size 13 (my normal size) and found that they ran small. This was a width problem, but instead a length problem because my toes smashed into the toe of the shoe. Thankfully, Zappos was awesome and exchanged the shoes next day for the size 14. After waring these shoes now for just over a week I've got a blister on my foot the size of a quarter and my heels are killing me. Moreover, the little Globe insignia on the back of the shoe started coming off 3 days after I got them. I truly dislike these shoes, which is sad because my first pair of Globes about 10 years ago (Chet Thomas Pro Model) were really comfortable and really tough. To anyone considering these shoes, just get a pair of DVSs and you'll be much happier and they're only a little more.

Shoes are very cool. The carbon fiber look is not cheesy "tuner car dashboard". It is flat black and understated, but adds great detail to an all black shoe.

People were right about size running small on this shoe. I usually wear a 13, my foot is about 12.5, but this model I did need a 14!
