Although I've been a very satisfied customer for years, I've never written a review. When I got these boots, I felt like I had to for those who have trouble getting boots to fit their calves. I am 5'0" and have always had very athletic calves and have never owned boots - I'm 52! With the elastic on the sides of these they pulled right on, and I screamed for joy!

Good fit and nice look! Had to get a 1/2 size smaller. A little hard for me to take off, most likely because they are new. Very happy with purchase!

These boots are so comfortable and fit my large calves. The leather is so soft that it feels like you're wearing a glove. I loved them so much that I bought the black and brown ones.

I absolutely love these boots. I was looking for a flat heel and a streamlined look for every day. The stretch on the sides makes them fit beautifully and they are easy to get on and off. The leather gets prettier the more I wear them. One of my favorite boots ever!

I so wanted to love this boot, but I could not get my foot all the way down inside, past the instep. If Gentle Souls had put boot loops/straps on the boot, it might have been possible

Deerskin lining- Gentle Souls´ shoes uses supple and breathable deerskin-lined insoles providing softness and comfort while conforming to the shape of your foot. It is durable and will not stretch or crack when wet. Deerskin is normally found on gloves, jackets or shoe uppers. The deerskin-lined insole is unique to Gentle Souls shoes and sandals!
Flaxseed Memory Pillows- Flaxseed pillows are embedded in the footbed of Gentle Souls shoes to mold to the shape of your foot and provide cushioned support. The flaxseed ¨memory pillows¨ are somewhat similar to beanbags as they redistribute and adjust to the shape of your foot with every step.
Padding- Under the deerskin lining there is a memory foam developed by NASA; Poron®. This foam does not break down and maintains its shape over time.
Granulated Cork- This layer located under the Poron® helps with shock absorption when walking on hard surfaces.
Rubberized Outsole- Sometimes fused with leather, rubberized outsoles are flexible and great for traction on hard surfaces.

These are probably the most comfortable, cushiony boots that I have ever tried on. I usually wear a 7½ or 8 and these, even the size 7, has a little space all around but little enough that I can wear thicker socks. There is no zipper but I had no problem pulling the boots over my heels.

OMFG, these little black boots have changed my life. I was in so much pain from wearing flimsy cute flats and crazy high heels all the time and my lumbar was all messed up. I knew it was time for some orthopedic shoes, but I didn't want to look like the dork that I am. I mean, I have been hiding it so well all these years. I ordered them in my usual size 8, but those were huge so I returned them and bought the 7.5. They were tight for a few days but the magnificent wonderfully buttery amazing leather molded to my foot shape perfectly. After about a week of wearing them every day. And it is good. I really have to resist wearing these boots to bed. They just feel so good! Leather lining I love you! I will say that I wish they came in a brighter brown... Anyway, buy these shoes. You will not look like a huge dork, you will be so comfy and happy and warm!

These boots fit perfectly and look great. It is definitely helpful to read through the reviews. Many mentioned ordering a half size smaller, I wear a 7.5 and ordered a 7. They fit just right.

Stop what you're doing and buy these boots! I am 5'7 and a shoe size 7, which is already small for my height but when you throw in huge track and field calves--really, they're giant and I've never understood why the muscles refuse to die after years of sitting at a desk)--it's difficult to find a boot that fits in the foot and the calf. But...these are the ones! Not only do they fit all the way up the leg (woo hoo!), but they're a dream in the foot--true comfort. The ankle is flexible and doesn't cut and they look very sleek and well-proportioned. The elastic in the leg actually makes my legs feel supported and engaged and means there's no flopping around. Even though they're a comfort brand they look very high fashion and sleek. At the sale price these boots much more than worth it! I would pay the original price for beauties like these but on sale, they're undeniable. Buy these boots!
