Deerskin lining- Gentle Souls´ shoes uses supple and breathable deerskin-lined insoles providing softness and comfort while conforming to the shape of your foot. It is durable and will not stretch or crack when wet. Deerskin is normally found on gloves, jackets or shoe uppers. The deerskin-lined insole is unique to Gentle Souls shoes and sandals!
Flaxseed Memory Pillows- Flaxseed pillows are embedded in the footbed of Gentle Souls shoes to mold to the shape of your foot and provide cushioned support. The flaxseed ¨memory pillows¨ are somewhat similar to beanbags as they redistribute and adjust to the shape of your foot with every step.
Padding- Under the deerskin lining there is a memory foam developed by NASA; Poron®. This foam does not break down and maintains its shape over time.
Granulated Cork- This layer located under the Poron® helps with shock absorption when walking on hard surfaces.
Rubberized Outsole- Sometimes fused with leather, rubberized outsoles are flexible and great for traction on hard surfaces.

WOW! The most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned! I wore these all over Italy for 25 days straight and never once got a blister or sore feet. I had no problem with the strap (as others had mentioned) and they went with everything I put on. Thank you Gentle Souls - you have me for life!

Very Disappointing Shoes - I have owned one pair of Gentle Souls in the past and I just loved them. The Gentle Souls Gretchen are one of the worst shoes I have ever owned. The main problem is that the sling-back strap never stays up, you are always stopping to pull up the strap. Although the wide of the shoe is a medium, I had to take them to have stretched and it did not help the situation at all. I believe I paid a lot of money for shoes that I cannot use!!!

This is the second pair of shoes I'be bought from Gentle Souls and I love both. My first was a pair of boots and they are very comfortable and good looking at the same time. The shoes I recently bought are made of a really soft leather with beautiful details for such a simple design. The leather is so soft that it almost looks like a ballet slipper when it is on your feet. The choice of color makes it a great neutral. I have wide feet and this shoe works very well for me.
I'd also recommend: Brooks, Dr. Scholls

Like walking on air! Just got these and was wary because of other reviews, BUT no strap issues (yet!) and they are so, so comfortable. I am a true size 9, but had to exchange for 8 1/2. So, absolutely order a half size down.

Great, comfortable simplicity - I really enjoy my pair of Gentle Souls Gretchen shoes. They are very comfortable flats and coordinate nicely with the simple way that I dress. I wear a lot of clothing that is stylish through clean lines with simple elegance, and these shoes work nicely with that kind of style. I call it "understated elegance." I recommend them to anyone who appreciates quality, comfort and simplicity.
