Deerskin lining- Gentle Souls´ shoes uses supple and breathable deerskin-lined insoles providing softness and comfort while conforming to the shape of your foot. It is durable and will not stretch or crack when wet. Deerskin is normally found on gloves, jackets or shoe uppers. The deerskin-lined insole is unique to Gentle Souls shoes and sandals!
Flaxseed Memory Pillows- Flaxseed pillows are embedded in the footbed of Gentle Souls shoes to mold to the shape of your foot and provide cushioned support. The flaxseed ¨memory pillows¨ are somewhat similar to beanbags as they redistribute and adjust to the shape of your foot with every step.
Padding- Under the deerskin lining there is a memory foam developed by NASA; Poron®. This foam does not break down and maintains its shape over time.
Granulated Cork- This layer located under the Poron® helps with shock absorption when walking on hard surfaces.
Rubberized Outsole- Sometimes fused with leather, rubberized outsoles are flexible and great for traction on hard surfaces.

CONFUSED - I am still deciding whether I am keeping this shoe. I am very hard to fit and so many designers do not make the shoes true to size. This shoe is just right in length. The reason I'm confused is that the top is stretched over the sandal very tightly. Perhaps because the leather will stretch. I have worn them in the house to see if I can get comfortable in them. They are better than when I first got them, but I don't know if they will be comfortable if I had them on for several hours. They are growing on me though and they are the type of sandal that goes with allot like skirts, shorts, jeans, etc... For a plain sandal they're chic.

Although the shlook likes like a quality made product, I don't find them to be. The one shoe is much wider than the other and the upper leather rubs my feet. I have never had a problem with one shoe of a pair not fitting my foot. That is definitely the case with these. I'm very disappointed with this brand.

I wanted to love these - I like the look of the shoe, but the sole was kind of weird. It just felt odd. I did not want to risk a problem with a shoe that was over $170. The leather work however is beautiful.

Lovely shoes, but runs very wide. They fell off my feet, and I got my traditional size.

It's me, not the shoe. A bunion on my left foot makes it a little harder to slip this shoe on comfortably. I love the softness of the leather in look and feel. I have 3 pairs of Gentle Souls. The others fit perfectly at once and this is already stretching out for me.

Mahogany is a soft Copper - Somewhat reluctantly, I ordered these in mahogany because it was the only color left in my size but I loved the look of the sandal. Expecting a reddish-brown leather, I was delighted to receive what I would describe as a soft, metallic copper color. Unfortunately, I must return them as they are slightly wide for my foot (which, while a B, runs a tad on the narrow side). I still give them top marks because they're great for some lucky woman!
I'd also recommend: Dansko, Beautifeel, Stonefly
