Deerskin lining- Gentle Souls´ shoes uses supple and breathable deerskin-lined insoles providing softness and comfort while conforming to the shape of your foot. It is durable and will not stretch or crack when wet. Deerskin is normally found on gloves, jackets or shoe uppers. The deerskin-lined insole is unique to Gentle Souls shoes and sandals!
Flaxseed Memory Pillows- Flaxseed pillows are embedded in the footbed of Gentle Souls shoes to mold to the shape of your foot and provide cushioned support. The flaxseed ¨memory pillows¨ are somewhat similar to beanbags as they redistribute and adjust to the shape of your foot with every step.
Padding- Under the deerskin lining there is a memory foam developed by NASA; Poron®. This foam does not break down and maintains its shape over time.
Granulated Cork- This layer located under the Poron® helps with shock absorption when walking on hard surfaces.
Rubberized Outsole- Sometimes fused with leather, rubberized outsoles are flexible and great for traction on hard surfaces.

I really wanted to like these boots. I saw them initially in Garnet Hill (but no one can beat Zappos for ordering and returns). But the boots just weren't as stylish as they looked in the catalog. Not quite biker boot enough. And also not super comfy...a lot of heel slippage although the size of the boot seemed right. Just overall an "eh" boot which for the price, I expected a "wow" boot.

Gorgeous boot, fits like a glove, terrible quality leather. If you look at it wrong, the veneer peels off. I'm thinking of spray-painting the gold back on, which would be fine if I hadn't spent a lot of money on them! My first disappointment with Zappos.

Beautiful buttery-leather on this boot! It's roomy which is great but I needed a smaller size which wasn't available. Would recommend this one. Very comfortable and stylish.

Love these like I haven't loved a pair of boots in years! They are super soft and comfy, and the deerskin lining is nothing short of luxurious! The calf circumference can be adjusted with the buckles, so they don't look like Welles on my thin calves, but they would adjust to fit substantially larger calves too. Just the right amount of cycle edginess, without being over the top. Again COMFORT COMFORT DREAMY!

Love these boots with leggings! Extremely comfortable. Note that they hit about mid-calf. Very soft. FYI - Not appropriate for tucking in jeans because the leather is so soft.

I love these! The leather is so soft, and they are so comfy, but they are fashion forward without being too 'trendy'. These are classic motorcycle-looking boots that will look great under jeans or a skirt, or with jeans tucked in, or with leggings...you get the idea...but most importantly, they will fit gals with larger calves. I injured one leg in an accident, and the calf of that leg is larger as my leg swells as the day progresses. If you unbuckle the buckle, you can increase the calf circumference significantly. I will poke an extra hole and they are perfect! FYI, my bum leg is approximately 17 inches at widest point on calf, and size 8.5 fits great!
I'd also recommend: frye
