Perfect casual style flat for daytime. Leather is buttery soft. Nice arch support for a lightweight ballet flat. Ruching modernizes shoe. Fit is just right for my wide foot. It is the black flat that I've been in search of for some time. I regret to have to return the shoe. My big toe pushes up into the buttery leather and most surely will leave a stretch mark and wear over a short time.

The perfect little flat and so comfortable. I've worn Gentle Souls for years, but my big toe pushes up in this one & is uncomfortable. I regret having to return them.

I ordered these shoes while looking for the "perfect European trip shoe." They won't work as an all-purpose/all-day walking shoe (they don't have enough support or cushion for that), but I decided to keep them anyway because they are very cute. I have bunions so many flats don't work for me because the tops hit my foot in a bad spot. These are soft enough and come up high enough to not be a problem (with a wee bit of home stretching). The insides of these shoes are like butter, and I get a warm, comfortable feeling every time I slip into them. Too soon to tell, but the soles may not be as durable as one may like.

I love these shoes! They do run slightly wide but I think that add to their comfort. I walked all over San Francisco in these and they were so comfortable. I also have a pair of Gentle Souls wedges that are awesome! Gentle Souls is my new favorite brand for casual shoes. I will be buying more!

Deerskin lining- Gentle Souls´ shoes uses supple and breathable deerskin-lined insoles providing softness and comfort while conforming to the shape of your foot. It is durable and will not stretch or crack when wet. Deerskin is normally found on gloves, jackets or shoe uppers. The deerskin-lined insole is unique to Gentle Souls shoes and sandals!
Flaxseed Memory Pillows- Flaxseed pillows are embedded in the footbed of Gentle Souls shoes to mold to the shape of your foot and provide cushioned support. The flaxseed ¨memory pillows¨ are somewhat similar to beanbags as they redistribute and adjust to the shape of your foot with every step.
Padding- Under the deerskin lining there is a memory foam developed by NASA; Poron®. This foam does not break down and maintains its shape over time.
Granulated Cork- This layer located under the Poron® helps with shock absorption when walking on hard surfaces.
Rubberized Outsole- Sometimes fused with leather, rubberized outsoles are flexible and great for traction on hard surfaces.

Unfortunately, I had to return these. The sizing was perfect. I normally wear a 38 EUR or 7.5 US, and the 7.5 fit my slightly wide foot well. I had the same problem a few others did: my big toes hit the top of the toe box awkwardly, and I was afraid it would be painful if I wore them all day. Otherwise, the quality of the shoe was great, and I love that the Gentle Souls have some arch support.

Followed the advice of others who had written that the shoe runs a bit wide - yes it does, which was just fine for my own foot that runs a bit wide! the folds in the leather at the top give it a nice 'finished' look - inside is also finished very well. Nice - and very comfortable.
