Generic Surplus Reviews
These are a waste of money. The threads that attach the shoe to the "tongue" came unthreaded after the first wear. They are basically trash now. Do not buy these...go TOMS...don't try a substitute.
These shoes are perfect. True to size, (I'm a 9 1/2, I got a 9 1/2, and it was a good move), they look great, and they're really comfortable. I've been looking for this exact color in a shoe for a while now. I'm glad I found these before they sold out (and now I'm debating on getting another pair).
I got these for my boyfriend since he bought another pair of shoes from the same brand. At first I was worried because he hated the other shoes he bought since they didn't give him any arch support/were generally uncomfortable. These shoes, however, are the exact opposite. They have a strong sole, comfortable material, and are an overall great shoe for the summer. The pattern is a little bolder than I had expected, but it is still a sharp look. These look great with slacks and shorts. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase.
I really wanted to like these shoes. I think the style is great, but I just could not get over the comfort and quality issues. There is a tragic flaw in the construction of the shoes: a bulky seam at the back of the heel that sticks out enough to cause some discomfort and bruising. I thought it would go away after a day or two but it never did. Now my shoes are dirty from a little walking outside and I have bruises on the back of my heels on both feet. Another issue is that the canvas material is apparently glued to some backing material and after a day of walking around in them the fabric has started to detach and bubble over the toes. I am returning them; hopefully Zappos will take them back even though I wore them outside.
Total crap, I guess I should know better than to buy another pair of shoes off this company. The style is nice, but the construction is probably the poorest of any shoe I've ever owned. The sole just starts coming off the shoe and I've hardly even worn it, less than 10 overall wears.
I have wide feet, so shoes usually feel narrow for me. Surprisingly, these shoes felt short and wide on me.
I have owned these shoes for exactly a month and I already need to replace them. After less than a week of wear, the rubber sole on one of the shoes started to come off (it has since fallen off completely). The heel on the other has separated from the rest of the sole and I am waiting for it to come completely off as well. By the second week the interior pads would come out along with my foot every time I took the shoes off. I have since had to cut off the cloth portion of the padding to keep it from bunching up under my feet when walking. This is all after light to moderate wear, and I do not even wear them every day. I am used to shoes still looking like they are new even after the first couple of weeks. The last time I wore these somebody said they liked them and asked me if I remembered where I got them because it looked like I had had them for years. When I told her I had had them for less than a month, it took some convincing before she believed me. I am willing to give the company the benefit of the doubt, I am sure it is entirely possible I just got a bad pair. But when a pair of expensive shoes starts falling apart after less than a month of normal wear, I cannot rate it higher than one star.
