This is my first review. I had to rate these boots. After three years of searching, buying and returning wide calf boots I have finally found the perfect pair! They don't look like wide calf boots. I can tuck my straight leg jeans into them no problem. I love that the ankles aren't wide too, they taper perfectly. Thinking about buying the brown as well, that's how much I love them.

Be sure to measure the circumference of your calf before you consider purchasing these. The name, Katy Wide Calf, is misleading. The circumference on the shaft is only 15½", which is not really considered a wide calf-boot. I ordered them, saw how great they were, and was disappointed that the minute I took them out of the box, they had to go right back in to be returned. They were way too slim in the calf. These boots were redone! I bought a pair in brown in the fall when they were 17inches wide based on the reviews. At the time, many were talking about how large the fit around the calves was. Now, I got a pair in black and the fit is different. They fit, but are a lot more snug than my old ones. I still love them but older reviews can be misleading.

These boots are great. I'm 5'4 with 16.5 inch calves. A full upper calf and thicker ankles. I take a 10.5 shoe but always order size 11 in boots. They were a little hard to zip up but once I got them on very comfortable. They are approximately an inch below my knee. I was able to zip them up with thin jeans on. They look slimming and no way look like wide calf.

I love these boots! They are a perfect fit, the leather quality is excellent and the fur lining is amazing. There is no break-in period...they were comfortable from the first minute I put them on. There is never enough arch support for me, but there was plenty of room to accommodate my inserts. True to size in the foot, and soft enough in the calf to stretch if necessary.

First, the look and the quality of this boot is really nice. The braided detail is beautiful, the dark brown color is rich, the leather feels and smells nice, and the overall style is chic. However, the calf did not feel wide (and my calves are not that wide, I just wanted a boot I could tuck some jeans into) and I ordered a half size up, but it felt like it was barely my normal size. My advice, order at least half a size up and don't plan on putting much more than leggings or tights into them. Would highly recommend otherwise.
