Very well made fashion hiking boot. I will be trekking all over New Zealand in these soon, but for now I'm wearing them around Australia in winter. They are pretty comfortable but definitely narrower than I thought they'd be. I have a Frye riding boot that is also narrow and must be the brand.

Extremely comfortable boot. Originally I ordered a 9.5 but had to reorder a 9. A little wide for narrow feet, but roomier is better than too tight when doing work. Highly recommend. Well worth the price.

These boots look like my ski boots from when I was a kid. They are comfortable but here's the deal: if you have a wide foot, they probably won't fit. The mid-section is quite narrow. Also if you have a very high arch, the mid-section will seem very snug. I have a slightly high arch and the shoe broke in to feel great in a day or so, but you can tell the mid-section is tight as the laces don't pull as closely together there. Another reviewer mentioned the tongue web and she was right, it makes the shoe a bit snug. The sole has good traction. The insole has a half-length pasted insole on top which will peel up because the foot rubs against it on the way out. I put in a light heel insole of my own which fit after the boot broke in a bit and added arch support. Boot looks great laced all the way up or tied at ankle, so pants can be easily tucked in or pulled over. I'm an 8.5-9, 8.5 fit perfectly. Lastly, the laces are way too short!

These boots are very comfortable and they look great. The leather has a unique look that cannot be found in most boots of this style.

The Frye Company was founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a shoemaker from England. Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers for both sides of America’s Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-America war, and for Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. Many New England families during the mid and late 1800’s wore Frye boots as they pioneered across the country to the West.

Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.

In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.

The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

I have to Rogan's in black. I can't tell you how happy I am that I got them. They fit TTS, a bit snug at first but nothing painful. Incredibly comfortable and stylish with a pair of skinny or straight leg jeans.

I love these boots (am wearing them right now). I am partial to Frye boots, I think they are some of the finest footwear on the planet today, but still I love these. They are perfectly proportioned. They have a tough look without making your feet look huge. And immensely comfortable. They look great with leggings or skinny jeans rolled up and a big sweater.

I purchased these boots last year because I was looking for daily boots. I wear a size 11½ in my Frye engineers but had to go down to a size 10 in these. These boots are very stylish and quality is top notch as usual for Frye. Here is the kicker, though, the soles are awful. The rubber is super thin and after only about two months of wearing them the tread is almost all worn off. If you are considering these I would suggest strongly looking at the Born stock as they are virtually the same boots, at half the cost and they appear to have a much more robust sole.

I love the look of this boot, it has the height, weight and color I have been looking for. However, comfort is another story. I'm an 8 to 8.5 in most shoes, I read the reviews mentioning that the shoe runs slightly large and decided to go with an 8. It fit just about to the tip of my toes, fine with light to maybe medium socks at the most, but definitely no heavy socks. They arrived the next day (yay, thanks Zappos). I wore them around the office for two days before heading off to South America - a review mentions they didn't even need breaking in, but I tried a little just in case. They did great in low impact terrain (carpet!), and now a month later my severly blistered feet are just about healed. These boots about skinned my ankles alive, I was wearing medium socks during the hiking trips, it hurt so bad I was contemplating going barefoot in the Andes rather than to keep wearing them. If I could return them I would, they are just not comfortable as a hiker, and I wouldn't want to wear something this bulky for everyday use. Darn! I hope to salvage them by putting moleskin around the ankle area inside of the boot and applying leather softener frequently. I wish these would've worked out better, but maybe in a few years they will have broken in. Also, they are narrow, which is great for my foot but if yours is wide or normal width, it might be a tight squeeze, and the left tongue does slip off to the side every few minutes, kind of irritating to keep adjusting. Bring comfy shoes (Toms worked great for me) for refuge if you go backpacking with them being relatively new.

Really liked the look and style. The way the tongue is attached causes a lump that rubs on the top of the foot. I was tempted to just cut the web of leather out, but didn't want to void the return.

Although I love the comfort and look of this boot, it has a serious flaw. The D'rings at the top popped off on both boots within the first week of wearing them. The smallest amount of torque will pull them right out. I kept the boots because I had already worn them at least 3 times, and I truly loved the comfort and the color (red). Sadly they are just not up to what I would expect manufacture.
