Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

I have always loved Frye's styles but this was the first pair of Frye flats that I purchased. I have a lot of trouble buying flats as I have sensitive skin and tend to blister easily. These shoes were comfortable right out of the box. They have a fantastic leather cushioned footbed and the shoe is soft and forgiving, but not so much that it loses its shape. The area around the heel is a little bit hard, but has not given me any problems. I love these flats and would highly recommend them to everyone! Thank you Zappos!

I have worn Frye boots for years, but I can feel the studs when wearing this shoe. Cute but for the price maybe not the most comfortable. This is kind of an autumn red color...a tad orange. I have a regular width foot so I maybe should have bought one size up. Also it shows my toe cleavage.

Love these shoes. Have always had trouble finding a brand that fits just right and this one does. I wear either a 6 or 6.5 and the 6 fit me perfectly. The color goes with almost anything and even looks smart with jeans or casual pants. I ordered the same shoe in the gray color also.

First time buying Frye. Cute flat, the little brass studs add a bit of edge. Comfortable right out of the box. As with many flats, no arch support. Glad I bought them, I wear them often.

This is a beautiful, classy shoe. I wore it today for the first time at work all day. I was a little worried, because the leather is a little stiffer than my other Frye Regina pointed-toe flats. This is probably to support all the studs. Anyway, I decided to wear the no-show little thin socks (peds) while I broke in the shoes and my feet did great! I always get complements on my Regina ballet flats. They look great with pants, capris and dresses! They are expensive, but they will last forever,
I'd also recommend: Dolce Vita
