Dressy classic - Frye has softened and dressed up the classic engineer boot. Heel is not as high, shaft not as tall as the traditional, black boot. Instead we have leathers that take a great shine and boots that are classy enough to go out on the town. Very comfortable and sharp looking.

Frye Brando Engineer - Fantastic old-school Frye quality and good looks, made in the USA. I'm tough to fit: these were fine at first, but after 3 or 4 days of warm-weather break in, they were suddenly too big. Probably should have gone a half size smaller. Disappointed in myself, but NOT in the quality of the boot or Zappos service, both of which are first rate!

Great all around boot - These are great boots, comfortable and good looking! They run about a half size bigger then labeled so order accordingly, and they are more stylish than durable so don't expect these to be your new set of workboots.

Great boot...but - This is a great boot save for one thing. The boot is unlined and at this price point it should be. The boots always takes my socks off when I pull them off. Looks good, is comfortable, and is light for this type of boot. I took the advice of others here and ordered a half size smaller than my usual 10.5. The boot still feels a bit large, but I'm certain that any smaller wouldn't fit. I have western boots made in the US, fully lined, that were less money. Frye needs to lower their price or finish the boot better. Zappos service was perfect.

Excellent - Boots arrived within 2 days of placing order. New, and fresh right out of the box. Excellent craftsmanship, and quality. Took the advice of others, and ordered a half size smaller, and fits perfectly.

Worth the money - Great looking boot, excellent quality leather and workmanship. I'm planning to buy the same boot in black. I have always bought size 11 shoes/boots but have a size 10.5 foot. No need to go up a half size with these.

Best boot you can buy - I own about 60 pairs of boots, this is now my all time favorite. I am ordering more because I love these boots! I have three pair and want to order so I have back stock on them. Yes, I love them that much.

Incredible boots and service - These boots are amazing. I've never really worn boots before, so this is a big step for someone like me. While typically a size 12, I ordered a 12 and was surprised to see how loose the boot was on my foot. I processed a return, and ordered a size 11 which fits my foot like a glove. I love them! Also thanks to Zappos, I ordered the smaller pair at 10:30pm and it was waiting for me by the time I got home from work the next day!

Incredible - Great boots. Took others advise to size down by 1/2 size and the boots fit great. Unbelievable service from Zappos. I ordered these boots at 9:30pm est and the boots were on my porch when I got home the next day. This company know what it takes to win customers. Thanks Zappos, I can't wait to use you again.

Great Service- Great Boots - First, Zappos service is the BEST, this is not my first order and Zappos can't be beat. These boots are top quality and very comfortable- Frye always makes a quality product. As some of the other reviewers have said, buy 1/2 size smaller than you usually wear.

Not Really 1/2 size larger - I read all the reviews about this boot before I bought them. You see I wear a size 13 and most if not all of them said to order a 1/2 size smaller. So I figured I would order a 12.5. Well unfortunately for me you all do not carry a size 12.5. So I order the 12. I think a size 13 would've been better. I like the look and style of the boot and am continuously impressed with the Frye brand. I'm thinking about send them back for the 13. The size 12 fits, but is a little snug. If I don't send them back I might have them stretched a bit.

Finally I found "the ones"- My Brando Engineers are absolutely beautiful. The tobacco color is rich and interesting, and the buckles are tastefully understated. I'm a woman with wide feet, and I have been on an epic quest for the perfect boots. Normally a woman's 8.5 or 9 WW, Frye told me to try the smallest men's size that they make a 7. I popped in an insole to correct a loose instep, and now they are a perfect fit. My only complaint: The leather of one of the ankle straps is somewhat thin, and has already started to stretch disproportionately. I still love the boots and will keep them and be very happy with them, but the quality was obviously not 100%.

Right boot at the right price - Nice boot at a reasonable price for a Frye boot. If you use an insole, try 1/2 size larger. Shipping is free.

Engineered for style - This boot was exactly what I had hoped for. The quality was excellent, but I already expected that from Frye. They took only a few days to feel broken in, and I have received a number of compliments as well.
